Default True Self, May Thy Will be Done

I always had my reservations about the somewhat submissive nature many of our religions have vis-a-vis God, i.e. the "Thy Will be Done" prayer or the Muslim version "Inchallah" (God willing). It is hard to be a creator of your destiny if everything that happens is by definition an act of God. On the other hand, I also struggle with the popular new movement, "The Power of Intension". We pretty much will ourselves along a path, be it spiritual or not, and risk deviating on a big ego trip. If you use the Power of Intention, aren't you implying the path you are on is sub-optimal. Is it the you or the You who makes this assertion? My favorite prayer is "True Self, May thy Will be Done. When I invoke this prayer, everything that happens to me today is optimal for my spiritual development. If your True Self tells you to move mountains, then so be it. True Self, May Thy Will be Done!

I totally agree with you. I have some major problems with this intention manifestation thing, especially when used for such mundane desires.

I will have to try what you say. Sounds good!

As an aside, is it me, or are you posting all of your blog posts here? I recognized some of the posts on your blog as posts I saw here as well.

Zeitgeist.

Try this.....

Ask yourself this: Where is the exact dividing line between the "spiritual" and the "physical" ?

Once you've really considered this question, you are one with yourself.
(Which never was not-one in the first place.)

Dear Infinitethoughts,

could you please elaborate your point a little; I don't think I understand what you are saying.

Many thanks in advance ...

I was considering how thoughts are little beings in themselves, brought to life by the energy we put into them. We interact with these beings and they can help or harm us depending on what powers we give them.

God could be one of these thoughts... an interesting one at that because we bestow the power of this thought to transcend the thinker (you or me). We could just as easily call this thought "Dude" and it would work.

Another aspect of this, I can create a thought that controls you. And God has been used famously in this manner. This current era we are in, IMO, is about taking back this ability to create, to think and believe. The problem isn't God, per se, it's who's concept of God is it?

Lol....
I know it is a foreign concept and at first hard to comprehend.

But really, simply ask yourself this question....----Where is the EXACT dividing line between the "spiritual" and the "physical" ?.........and see what you come up with.

I feel that our true self really is a part of God. Our ego is based on an illusion that we are separate from God. The more we align with our true self and awaken to our true reality, the easier it becomes to manifest because we are going with the flow.

The Abraham-Hicks material uses the metaphor of swimming upstream or going with the flow. When our ego is not aligned with our true (God) self and want to assert the illusion of separation, we are swimming upstream. Truly believing "Thy will be done" is humbling oneself, trusting and going with the flow. The more we connect with our true self through meditation, contemplation and spiritual work, the easier it is to know when we are following our ego or our true (God) self.

So I see no conflict between "Thy will be done" and The Power of Intention, as long as we are coming from our true (God) self when we create intentions.

Awaken you also need to ask the question to your self -- Where is the EXACT dividing line between the "spiritual" and the "physical" ?
