| I'm curious...has anyone ever really listened to Bill Hicks here? Aside from the fact he's just hilarious, he was a deeply spiritual, self-aware individual. He wasn't perfect, but I'm not here to judge him one way or the other. He been great for opening up my perspective on many things... Most people I have either introduced him to are fairly open to him. Though when asked, some people take grave offense at the things he says....but they're generally fairly closed-minded in general. Anyways, I'm not here to try to convince folk, just wanna hear if he's the sort of comedian that goes down well with people in general in this forum. I did a quick search before I posted here and no-one has mentioned him...odd. P. |

| i found him to be hilarious in a way that definitely lets you know he must have been a beautiful person. his passing at such a young age was definitely sad.

| Bill Hicks is the most intelligent and daring person I could think of. I constantly listen to him for encouragement, beats your average selfmotivating crap anyday. He exposed the hypocrisy of organised religion, politicians, the media, healthnuts, non-smokers and so on. And he exposed himself, too. That's the real courageous thing, the other stuff is just intelligent. I don't know much about the man, well, I can sense Hicks really was a beautiful and compassionate person by listening to his work, but I just decided yesterday that I will spend the Holidays reading a biography about him. So I really appreciate his name being mentioned amongst us here. God, we need Bill Hicks more than ever... |

| Heya, Yea, it's a serious loss to us that he went so soon. He was really just getting started when he moved on... [edit] And yea, I was wondering why no-one had mentioned him so far. He is someone to aspire to. When you can honestly say who you are, what you believe, and stand out from the masses being passionate about not accepting things just as they because they're there to be accepted, you've reached a very special level. What's the name of the biography you're reading? Last edited by goodstyles : 12-05-2006 at 11:37 PM. |

| My favourite Bill Hicks quote has always been this, even before I'd ever heard of the Law of Attraction and IM! Quote:
