Is there only oneness?
Duality is the illusion that we think up can exist without down. But with oneness one realizes they come together. Up and down are mutually arising and dependent on each other. They only exist because of each other. What happens is our minds like to think up and down are two different things. If we can know and take up and down to be the same thing, in the way that neither exists without the other, and really know that in our depths - we will feel a oneness, but the duality is still there. We just don't see the duality as separated and individual concepts.

Duality is the objective way of thinking. Subjective reality is oneness (non-duality). At least that's how I map those ideas.

Yes, I experience oneness at times. It shows up and my brain is still operating. I like to think it's possible to have oneness feelings and still think. That we can operate as individuals (duality) in a secondary way to oneness.

is an abstraction that presents itself as beyond dualism, but has
within it a hidden duality. Dividing the cosmos into two categories
or levels of reality is dualistic by nature. The ideology of Oneness
(as opposed to the experience of it) creates an opposition with
multiplicity, calling itself "higher" and more real. And although the
mystical experience can give a person a deeper connection with the
cosmos, by contrast the ideology of Oneness with its camouflaged,
hierarchical dualism has separated the spiritual from the worldly
and humanity from nature.

I believe that in Reality there is no duality between us and our maker, what ever name you choose to give, our maker.

For me as I started on my journey to expand my Spiritual Awareness, or as I sometime call it Self Mastery, I experimented with things such as crystals, tarot cards and readings. Each of them worked for me according to my belief in them and I learned allot.

But when I began studying Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes I realized that there is no duality between my maker and I and I can tap into all the power and knowledge I need to live an empowered life DIRECTLY!!!

I'm not knocking anyone who uses "mediums" to contact Source it's just something that as I expanded my awareness I no longer needed.

I have experienced being in a meditative state and still functioning. You must dispel the myth that the meditative state is this oohey place, where you are zoned out. In a meditative stateI experienced, during silent meditation and actively doing something, a state of heightened awareness with All - complete in the moment being. So much so that sometimes, I just oberve myself doing something, like a narrator.

Jesus is a good example of this also, except he lived there and I'm only there for about 5 minutes every 5 months:-)

I'd just like to add. In a certain sense, Non-duality is never fully attainable.

Why do I say this.

Because, in the NOW, which goes on "forever" (which is a nonsense term because we're playing with this toy we've created....."time") there will always be duality.

The duality of you as the Void and you as the non-Void.

Default separate but one

HI,

for me one of the most challenging aspects of my journey has been to accept the notion of group consciousness and what I experience to be oneness.

I have have learnt that althoug we appear separate from every one and thing else, we are also part of everything, body else.

Experiences like 'time' and the seeming 'end' of the physical body in terms of skin cause us to experience reality in a form of separation however neyond the physical experience we are connected. So we are separate and part of a group at the same time.

As I look through my physical eyes I appear separate but within my feelings and psychic/mental experience I can experience a oneness. As I focus my attention inward, away from the physical senses I gain a real experience of the connectedness within my experience, I am learning to bring that cosncious knowling of my connection with my reality whilst experiencing the physical separation from my physical senses.

Dave -- beautifully stated. I agree completely. It is possible to be aware of the all-that-is, and still function in this world. Jesus termed that state being in this world, but not of it. All you need do to get there, is truly in your heart want it, and set your intention to achieve it. All the tools, the mind-training, whatever you need to achieve that state will be provided.

Blessings from Belle,

LOL.......!
jaideep. That was funny.

Try this. In the beginning it's extremely beneficial to do it by yourself.
Make the time in the morning, (this is the best time, since you've just "returned" from "eternity") make tea or coffee, smoke tobacco to help the neurons in your brain........then simply sit and ask yourself AM I A PRODUCT OF MY PAST.

Additionally, make yourself aware that at each moment, you are generating your/the past and your/the future.

Do this every morning.

Ok, I have to disagree, just a little. I believe that nonduality is our basic state. So time is just a temporary phoenomenon we experience, a dimension of our experience of the NOW. What happens when we transcend dimensions in our awareness?

I have no proof; I just believe this. However, from a scientific standpoint, I believe there is some evidence this may be so -- Einstein got this concept. But I have no proof to give. . . .

Blessings from Belle,
The issues is if the Void is really oneness. Or if Non-void is? Duality is everywhere. But is it in oneness? Is there an opposite to oneness? To have a working definition of oneness - there can be no opposite of oneness. I don't think oneness can be thought of as void/non-void. Then again oneness probably can't really be thought of at all - since thought seems to always have a duality to it. But then oneness does kind of have to have something else that isn't oneness for it to be something. argh...

Hey Belle.

Try this:
Where ever you are now, imagine that the words "past" and "future" do not exist.

What this does is, it puts you in a state of reality.

All "problems" (they're not really problems but mechanism's to wake up) do is give you the opportunity to learn and then wake up (but waking up doesn't mean you can't keep playing the game) from this game we've set up called "time".
