The life I once knew

Hi everyone,

I just recently realised that the last 18 years of my life are an illusion lol. For some reason I find this very funny and yet at the same time am very taken back by it. Any suggestions.:)

So you are free! You can be anything you want to be right now. You can design a compelling future for yourself, one that you'll be delighted to walk right into.

Congratulations!

Yep. Sounds like the perfect "do over" to me. Wish I could have had a do over when I was 18. Would've saved me a lot of unnecessary grief and frustration.:p

Seriously, I don't mean to minimize what must be a truly impactful realization, but unless there's some real trauma you're experiencing to finally awakening - some grief or remorse or other sense of loss - then there's really nothing to do but dive right in and start making your new life in a way that you are congruent with. If you do that now, I'd say you're about 20 years (or so) ahead of most people.

well I wouldn't say I'm free just yet....but this has made me realise something deep inside me, and which can explain aslo why I started going to this website. I've always wanted to change myself....to be different and to have different talents and/or skills and possibly more friends ect. I release this is the reason why I went on this journey and I believe as soon as I fully accept this fact I will finally be free.

What makes you see your life as an illusion?
Is it a concept you have or an experience that took hold of you?
What's funny about it?
How are you taken a back? What does that mean?
Will the life ahead of you also be an illusion to you?
Does this feeling generate non-attachment to external sources of trying to find happiness? If yes, way to go!

I think the illusion is that we think we are separate from a grander source that we've forgotten about. That source wants to experience what I can is where the real stuff is - it's not my little ego self that wants to experience, it's source. And the illusion still is there, as an illusion. Like if you see a mirage and walk into it and don't get wet then walk away and still see it - it, as an illusion is still there, we just know better.

Just remember: we are always right where we need to be to get to where we are going. No regrets. Embrace and feel gratitude for your past even if it wasn't all peachy. It's made you who you are....which is perfect.

Jennifer
