| Steve claims that an enlightened mind will realise that service to self results in service to others because the two coincide. Where is the evidence for this? If it's true it has massive implications because it renders all of his theories true. Conversely, if it's not true... his ideas fall apart... Can anybody give me rational or empirical justification of this claim?? Thanks P

| Logic yes. Empirical...um no. The logic goes something like this: You are everything. Everything is You. The more aware you become, the more your realize your identity is not the one little piece of existence you thought you were, but rather, the whole enchilada. Therefore, your true self is the reservoir of existence itself. So at this level, service to self is the same thing as service to others because they are, quite literally, one and the same. Similarly, at such a level, serving others is serving the self. Think of it as a "higher" form of selfishness -- one that neglects no being. |

| I understand why it's true in a subjective reality. You are Atman. Brahman is everything. Atman is Brahman. To use the Hindu words for it... But within an objective reality it doesn't hold true?
