 |  Buddha on the Brain Here is an article on salon.com about Buddhism and how it could be helpful to neuroscience (among other things). You have to click on an ad to view the full article. I found the article very interesting and I hope others here also enjoy it. I did not know much about Buddhism and this had really spiked my interest in learning more. Their take on the mind was especially interesting and I like how the religion encourages open-mindedness. Some of the topics that are discussed include Buddhism, Christianity, science, materialism, consciousness, substrate consciousness (dimensions of consciousness), and reincarnation. |

Matt, I would suggest you investigate some of the Dalai Lama's writings as he's quite keen to promote interaction between Buddhism & neuroscience. I believe he spoke at a neuroscience conference in the last year or so. My favourite interview answer from him related to this. Asked what he would do if findings from neuroscience contradicted buddhist teachings he replied "Well, we would have to change the teachings."  |
