| Everytime I try to meditate I can't seem to keep focused enough to get anywhere, because a strong urge for sexual pleasure comes over me. It's like all of my spiritual energy is being converted into sexual energy everytime I want to just relax & chill. I don't believe I've made contact with my angels or guides possibly because the majority of my thoughts are wondering how good they are in bed instead of more important questions. I haven't met a Incubus(sex demon) either. I'm sure I'd enjoy it thou. Anyone else have a similar problem? Last edited by RallyMcnally : 11-27-2006 at 04:12 PM. |

| Check out Bill Bodri's stuff at MeditationExpert.com I've been meditating under his guidance for a couple years, and it's not that spiritual energy is turned into sexual energy, but vice versa. This is why you need to be celibate for awhile (often Taoists talked about the 100 days). Strong sexual energy is great news for those trying to reach higher levels, but you've got to conserve it. Nearly a hundred years ago, Frank Channing Haddock had an entire chapter on "sex-energy" in one of his books and the importance of conserving it (though doesn't get into the esoteric stuff that Bill does.) This is nothing new, though the reason should not be blind adherance to some religious dogma, but rather correct cultivation. As hard as it is to do, you just need to let it go. Don't wallow in your sexual thoughts and attach to them. Have them and let them go. | This is a temporary phenomenon. Don't worry too much about it, but don't act out on the increased libido, if you know what I mean. Conserve the energy. What is essentially happening is that your Mooladhara (root) chakra is more active than the others, which leads to feeling more sexual. With continued meditation, it will be sublimated into a more refined, compassionate, loving-kindness type energy. In Tantra, we use practices of directing even sexual energy towards the inner Goddess; that way, the lust is sublimated into love. You can even visually act out your sexual desire with the Goddess. Certain yogic techniques known as bandhas also help redirect the energy upwards. Make sure your diet is bland and non stimulating. Avoid caffeine, tobacco, alcohol and any drugs. There is some excellent, free information on Tantra on the AYP website and forums. Good luck. Last edited by Antarananda : 11-27-2006 at 05:46 PM. Reason: clarification |

| What are you focusing on if not the moment? And if your root chakra is all fiery, might as well focus there. Practice moving the energy through your body, gently, so you can have your root present and be able to chill at the same time. Really focus on your breath when you do this. When it becomes ok to have your root present in meditation, you won't see it as interfering with the other energies. |

| In the popular book Think and Grow Rich, there's a chapter devoted to sex energy. Supposedly people who are highly sexed can be very successful (in a material sense) once they learn to channel their sex energy into their work. However, this rarely happens before a person reaches their 40s.

| Indeed, Steve. I once wrote about it on my blog in this post, where I included the experience of a famous man who had an ecstatic spiritual awakening. Ancient Hindu scripture claims that when one is sexually continent for 12 years, a subtle nerve grows in the nervous system which gives tremendous power of memory. From an article by Sivananda: "...even a little of self-restraint or a little practice of continence is an ideal 'pick-me-up'. It gives inner strength and peace of mind. It invigorates the mind and nerves. It helps to conserve physical and mental energy. It augments memory, will force, and brain power. It bestows tremendous strength, vigor, and vitality. It renovates the system or constitution, rebuilds the cells and tissues, energizes digestion, and gives power to face the difficulties in the daily battle of life. One who has perfect control over sexual energy attains power unobtainable by another means." The above article is a little puritanical, but speaks of the same law which ancient seers recognized 5000 years ago, and great men like Napoleon Hill understood and applied. |

Interesting, and I've heard the same thing. At 25 yrs old though, the whole idea just sounds like torture to me. I'll save that one for when I'm in my 50's. |

| what advice can you guys give if you know someone who views too much porn online? I'm assuming that has to do with an overactive root (2nd?) chakra as well? I would also assume that could lead to depression? |

| If it is so hard for you not to watch porn online, then cut the cable and relax, it can be because your emotions are hurt one way or another, it is a kind of addiction like if you drink too much, gamble or use drugs. It is a substitute for real feelings and emotions. I have made what I call the triple breath, which is a sound that gives you the possibility to make you own healing water so to speak. Make a Google search for healing water and the you will find it, it is free to use, it will help you to be connected with your higher self and gives you another kind of pleasure. Don't destroy your life with addictions. ![]() It is my own medicine, Healing Water Love and light Torben |

| Has anyone on this forum tried this healing water? I'd love toi hear testimonials. Unfortunately, I tend to be very skeptical even though I am an open minded person so as a result I need alot of certainty before I can commit to something. I guess it's a defense mechanism to not get let down or disappointed if I don't get the result I was promised. |
