Hi everyone! I'm curious to know if anyone here records and analyses their dreams, thinking that they may harbor wisdom that can help us solve our problems and grow into more whole individuals? -goldmbe http://www.discountenlightenment.com

I don't record them, however I do pay attention to them and don't just brush them off.

I keep a dream journal next to my bed and write out my dreams every morning as soon as I wake up - before I'm even really conscious. I do it for several reasons. For me, it's a way to increase my Lucid Dreaming capacity by looking for common "dream articles" - those things that only occur to me in dreams and not in "real" life. I am trying to train myself to recognize those objects/situations and then force myself to do a reality check. The goal here is to recognize I'm dreaming and become lucid and thus have the power to consciously affect the dream environment. I also record my dreams for Spiritual purposes. If you believe that the Dreamtime is a "between place" that allows you to connect on higher plane with Spirit, then recording certain powerful dreams helps you work through them in your conscious life. I leave the interpretation to a Holy Man - my teacher - but most of them don't really need any interpretation. When I have a Medicine Dream, it's usually pretty clear what it means. However, I have run at least one dream through this forum and Erin was generous enough to validate what I was thinking about it anyway.

As it happens, I do keep a dream journal and find it very useful. This process has strengthened my ability to astral dream and has deepened my spiritual journey. I also assist people to explore meaning in their own dreams. I encourage everyone to get to know themselves in new ways by gaining insight into their dreams and developing their own dream interpretation skills.

My dreams are my guides. Some of them are prophecitic (even about world events) Some are a window to my subconious. (just reflecting my worries for instance.) I always look for a positive interpertation and not a negetive one. If they really connect to nothing in my life, but are still very strong, i refer to them as past life experience. Ignoring them would be like recieving an important letter and not opening it. I sometimes use online dictionaries to help me interpert them, like this one: sometimes people tell me there dreams, and without noticing they reveal more then they would like to... If someone close dies, we "hang out" for a while in my dreams, before they move on (about a year). My father has the same thing. he would get messages where he lost things, and find them there the next day (like under chair 5 row 16 in the cinema), when I was living far away he would know things I was doing (even naughty things...) through his dreams. this would freak me out. so yeah, I use my dreams. they are like gifts

There is a video on YouTube about remembering and interpreting dreams you might find interesting. YouTube - "The Art of Remembering and Interpreting Dreams" Last edited by Susan21 : 02-10-2008 at 03:39 AM. Reason: Link didn't come out right
