Hey guys,

These days I am reading a lot more of sunsigns and trying to observe people whom I know if they are falling into the characterstics that are described in the sunsign.

But I have this doubt, why are sunsigns classified ? How should I interpret these sings? For example when I meet a cancerian should I cross verify weather she is homebound? or should I just make a statment with in me that 'oh! because she is a cancerian she is homebound?'

My husband is a capricon, I am Leo,I read the points where they both contrasts and they are true as well in my life, so should I understand that because there is a contrast in the two zodiacs these differences are normal ??

Basically My question is ,how should I intrepret these signs?

People ought not to do the latter. These things must be verified on an individual basis. A person's sun sign is only a fraction of what makes up the astrological chart. When a person's character does not fit their sun sign, it doesn't mean that astrology is wrong, it means that we don't know their entire chart, which consists of many other signs besides just the sun sign. My mother, for example, is a Cancer, but she is really nothing like a Cancerian is supposed to be. It doesn't mean astrology is wrong, it means she has other signs in her chart which are stronger in her character than her Cancer sign.

Basically My question is ,how should I intrepret these signs?

I think it's best not to make any decisive interpretations at all unless you are looking at the person's entire astrological chart and you can understand what all of the planet positions and signs mean.

Sun signs are only the tip of the Astrological iceberg.

My rising sign (moon) is the side of me that more people see.

The calculations are so shot with complexity and depth, judging only by the sun sign is going to give you a false impression of almost everyone you meet.

Actually, there is no such sign as "moon". It's like this--at the moment of your birth, each planet, and the sun and moon, were located in a certain constellation in the sky and there was a constellation that was rising over the horizon at the moment of your birth [the constellations are all the signs of the zodiac], and when you say, for example, your sun sign is Pisces (mine), it means that the sun was in the constellation of Pisces at the moment of your birth. The other ones are moon (I have moon in Capricorn), the rising sign (mine is Aquarius), and then all of the other planets in our solar system are included in the birth chart. The exact position of each of these in the sky at the moment you were born must be calculated for your birth chart. Additionally, the sky is divided into 12 houses and each house has a different significance, so you have to combine the significance of the planet, with the significance of the sign it is in with the significance of the house, so add all of that to the sun sign.

Having said all that, a sun sign can still represent the personality of a person well. I have almost all of the traits a Pisces is supposed to have.

There is actually another significant element I am forgetting, but...well, I forgot it. Many years ago I was into this and calculated my own and others' birth charts, but I gave it up because the math gave me a headache (my worst subject) and because once I calculated the charts, I didn't know what any of it meant.

But...so this is why in a lot of cases people think astrology is b.s., because people don't resemble their sun sign, but they resemble other signs in their chart. There are also ways to know which signs will be stronger in the personality than others, but I gave up long before I got that far.

I have every Leo trait ever listed, and I still think astrology is pu-pu. Fun pu-pu, though; like the Haunted House at Disneyland.

Guys thanks for the posts. Yes it makes sense not to judge people only by their sunsigns.But we cud get some inklings of the personality...

Astrology is fun for sure.
