Does the thought output of our conscious mind really cause things to happen in the world around us? The answer is yes. However, it is not the case that you think a thought of an object – and bang! – it appears. It is a re-iterative process. In other words, it is through continuous focus on a particular outcome that it will eventually manifest. One area of science that helps make sense of the time delay and the ‘mechanics’ of the LoA is Fractals. The essence of a fractal is very, very simple. You take any system and place something into it. Something comes out. You take what comes out and you place it back in. The simplest mathematical fractal would be x = x + 1. Start off with x being any number, say 10. x = x + 1, so you add one to x and you wind up with 11. You then take that result, and run the equation again. x now equals 11, x = x + 1, now x = 12. That simple little equation as we take its output and put it back into the input becomes a fractal. (check out fractals on wiki) Fractals were only identified about 30 years ago in the field of mathematics, but already scientists are finding that fractals are not limited to the realms of mathematics but abound nearly everywhere you look in nature. Tree branching, cloud structures, galaxy clustering, fern shapes, the veins of humans and of leaves and very much more all involve ‘self-similarity’. In other words each new output bears similarity to what created it. These discoveries are focusing on to the possibility that the universe as a whole might be a fractal system. Interesting - but what does this have to do with controlling our thoughts? Well, as Einstein once commented: "It has often happened in physics that an essential advance was achieved by carrying out a consistent analogy between apparently unrelated phenomena." :-) Consider the following... What we think is affected by our external environment. But, what we think in turn affects our external environment. Therefore: Today’s environment = environment of yesterday plus our thoughts. And in turn… Tomorrow’s environment = environment of today plus our thoughts. Ad infinitum… We live our lives and do certain actions, make certain decisions. As a result of those actions and decisions, we wind up being a certain type of person living in a certain type of environment. The person we are and the environment we live in then act back upon us, and we must again be who we will be. Everyday we make new decisions. Every moment is another creation and another manifestation of the fractal relationship. - or in non-fractal form... I will be what I will to be. |
