As of today, I am a legally ordained minister with the First Church of Atheism.

I am currently available for performing weddings, funerals, and other duties of the clergy. Also, if anyone in England has a "living" like the ones described in Jane Austen's novels, I would be delighted to entertain such a position.

O My God, I hadn't even considered that! Well, I guess if I fly to Canada to officiate at your wedding, I can deduct it as a professional expense! Wow! Plus I think you're supposed to give me a tip, but as a humble clergyperson I can't tell you that directly.

If only I'd of known sooner!!

I officiated at a wedding of two of my friends last weekend and I had to go through a huge (well, not really huge) rigmarole of paper work to get a one day solemnization certificate from the Governor's office. And it cost me 25 bucks! (It was great fun though to say "By the Power vested in me!! A control freak like me loves that stuff!)

My brother in law is a Universal Life Church minister and has done several weddings. Personally, I don't see the draw, but whatever floats your boat.

Titles --- hmmmm. I could never keep it all straight about what you call clergypeople. Or how often they're allowed to get married, if at all. I'll tell you what, though -- there will be no vow of celibacy here!

Witty and Fun
Healthy - physically, emotionally, mentally
Confident
Passionate and Affectionate
Considerate and Respectful

And so important that it's a list of it's own, the number one, non-negotiable quality - Single and Emotionally Available.

That's great, Lola! Now look at each of those qualities, including Single and Available, and be very straight with yourself: are you consistently being those qualities yourself? Are you consistently making choices that are fed by being those qualities? Is there any way for you to take on each quality in a bigger way?

Single - definitely
Emotionally Available - still somewhat guarded
Witty and Fun - absolutely! ("She's great fun at parties!")
Healthy - yes, yes, and m-m-mostly
Confident - unfair - you know that's on the *to be* list!
Passionate and Affectionate - definitely
Considerate and Respectful - almost always of others - need to be more so of myself

*sigh* It's ever so much work being Authentic.
