| Hey all! I just wanted to post what's on my mind right now. I have this feeling in me... that we can do so much if we'd only apply ourselves. My principal interest is the human potential, and although I seek enlightenment, it is through process and presence that I know I will find it. My desire is impossibility, made possible. I am eternally optimistic, so this hope lives strongly in me. I used to be very interested in psychokinesis and levitation, and all these books keep coming to me that make me dream even more. I know that the most apparent side-effect in power is responsibility, but my lifestyle is such that I have (and am being) taught this art. Before I continue, answer me this. What do you believe? Do you believe in evolution? Do you believe in childhood dreams? Do you believe in life as poetry invigorated and metaphor as truth? P.S. It's good to be back, I haven't posted here in many months. |

I believe in the soul, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, long foreplay, show tunes, and that the novels of Thomas Pynchon are self-indulgent, overrated crap. But I disagree with him on the designated hitter rule. Not a fan of show tunes either. Give me prog rock over Andrew Lloyd Webber anyday. Yes. For children, yes. Yes. And no. It's all about context. |

But we have unlimited possibilities and potential as a spiritual being. It is possible to transform part of this possibility or potential to physical level of our existence. Yoga is such a science of transformation. levitation and psychokinesis are such "yoga siddhis". But yoga need very strict discipline and practice of long time also genuine yoga teachers/ guru are so rare nowadays. Human potential as a soul is unlimited !! | I'm not sure that this is exactly what you had in mind, but your question reminded me of this poem/speech by Marianne Williamson (often attributed incorrectly to Nelson Mandela.) Our Deepest Fear by Marianne Williamson from A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Google Image Result for http://www.motards-online.com/blogsMO/ORylien/images/ORIG_1180537157_laird_hamilton_teahupoo.jpg His adopted dad, a famous big wave surfer, tells the story that they went to that famous diving cliff in Hawaii, the one in all the movies, to see some friends, and watch some divers. He tells how they went up the top, which is full on, and how while they were talking about how dangerous and radical it was, much to their absolute horror, Laird, only a little kid, went to the edge and jumped before they could stop him. And how he ran all the way up and did it again, and again. Now tow surfing is common, and even learners ride waves once considered cartoon like. |

Best concert I ever saw, though, was ELP in a 2000 seat venue in Vancouver. Great stuff. |
