Default Avatar EPC

For those who don't know to what I'm referring: Welcome to AvatarEPC.com

Last night my roommate and a few friends came by the house to visit with two avatar masters in Houston, Magda and Radi (I hope I'm spelling their names correctly.) We watched a video, went through some mini-course readings together, and then Radi and Magda went around the room helping people through the exercises in the mini-course booklet.

I am already more than a little familiar with all of the concepts expressed in the Avatar program about altering beliefs where they do not suit your goals and defining intentions clearly, but I guess I have to admit to always becoming a little skeptical when I see a great idea turned into a program. Inevitably, I lose trust in it once it's been simplified and processed for consumption by the masses. I was not impressed with the video, an impromptu speech by Harry Palmer at a workshop session, and have in fact heard the same ideas expressed by others much more eloquently. (I noticed someone quoted Harry Palmer without knowing who he was in another post in this forum-how interesting.)

I guess what I'm wondering is if anyone else here on Steve's site is or has been part of the Avatar program, and if so, how it's helped you, or if not, why you chose to pass it up. I don't doubt I could get some use out of their system--Radi explained that Avatar was particularly a method of turning the concept into a daily reality--but I think Steve and some others have really taken this idea and run with it in a direction that makes more sense to me.

Hi. Yes, I did do the Avatar Course in September of 2004. It totally changed my life. I can't express to you the liberation that I felt during that course and since, so I won't try--not exactly.

I understand the question about how the guy who developed these materials has similar concepts to many other systems of thought out there. The difference--and this is for me--is that these materials show you HOW to do it. Since we are so familiar with operating from within the mind, it is easy to forget that we are doing so. For instance, let's say you have an affirmation such as "I am happy and confident." What REALLY happens, often? In my own experience, to the degree that I did not already have this belief, I would be filtering my assertion of that affirmation through previous beliefs--beliefs like, "I am not worth all that much," "this isn't really going to work," and "I'm no good." ... And that could make it really hard to sustain this new, positive belief.

For me, this was always the problem with affirmations. If I was already pretty confident in an area, I might be able to use them to sway myself toward a new belief--"psych myself up". But if I was NOT really there, I would always go back into the old stuff that was sabotaging me.

It's like the difference between saying: "Use the mind that's already defined, as a self-sabotaging identity that's not helping you get where you want to be, and from that place, say positive things that will get you where you want to be..."; as opposed to: "Rise outside of that mind/identity/creation, and from a much wiser, wider, Source place, NOW, what would you like to create?" For me, all of the wonderful spiritual books I had read for the 25 years prior to doing Avatar definitely did help me, in a lot of ways; but they did not teach me how to rise outside of my mind. Avatar actually does that. Having helped to teach it for three years, I see this consistently.

I have been using and practicing the Avatar tools since I took the course, and it has profoundly changed my life for the better. I feel more honest, more real, and more happy. And, I have seen similar, reliably remarkable changes in almost ALL of the people I have seen who have taken the course. Where I was thinking about and talking about creating change in my life, I have created it, since doing the course.

Thanks,
Chris

Thumbs up re avatar courses

Just to say if you are wondering about the avatar course the best way to find out is to experience it your self..you can find a master near you who will run an intro, or take the resurfacing weekend, or just go for the whole course...... I found it amazing and not only do you learn and practise exercises you can do daily but you connect with a whole laod of other people and can support each other.........
Its fun and I never laugh so much as when on a course.....I did all five courses and my kids did some too and i would say after 15 years of being a yoga teacher and exploring various spiritual practises and courses this one really does deliver....
dare to try and you might just find what you were looking for!
