Default The truth about life.

The truth about life

I have this funny relationship when it comes to life. During high school I asked my teachers, friends and the homeless guy on the street on “what is the meaning of life”.

And now I came to the realization on what the meaning of life is.

Are you ready?

To have fun.

Boo-yeah!

This is coming from a spiritual stand point and it makes total sense to me.

You see, we're not earthly humans trying to become “spiritual” and become “enlightened” or find our way back to “God”.

What we really are is spiritual beings having an earthly experience. Having fun and learning lessons.

When the Buddha said we're whole and complete as we are, he's right. There is nothing wrong with the world – only thinking makes it so.

Think of it as this way – there is one super conscience and we're splinter cells of that conscience. Call that super conscience God or whatever, but since we're splinter cell of that super conscience, we're made of the same substance as it.

Using another analogy: think of God, or the source as an ocean and we're the droplets of water. Same material, same substance.

In essence, life is a game.

Some people forgot it was a game, so they have to take life too seriously, and they become paralyze from fear. Some thing as simple as asking out someone you fancy on a date. If you know that life is merely a game to have fun, what WOULDN'T you do? Ponder that for a couple minutes.

I don't see this view point changing any time soon and this guiding belief that made my life fun and exciting so far

I agree it's a game, but there is only one consciousness, it's not a shared divided thing.

Great points, ken

People tend to regret things they haven't done rather than risks they have taken. This excerpt is from the book "What Got You Here Won't Get You There":

Quote:
A friend of mine actually had the opportunity to interview people who were dying and ask them what advice they would have had for themselves. The answers he got were filled with wisdom. One recurring theme was to “reflect upon life, to find happiness and meaning now,” not next month or next year. A second recurring theme was “friends and family.” Consider this: You may work for a wonderful company and you may think that your contribution to that organization is very important. When you are 95 years old and you look at the people around your deathbed, very few of your fellow employees will be there waving good-bye. Your friends and family will probably be the only people who care. Appreciate them now and share a large part of your life with them. Yet another recurring theme was the reflection to “follow your dreams.” Older people who have tried to achieve their dreams are always happier with their lives. Figure out your true purpose in life, and go for it! This doesn’t apply just to big dreams; it is also true for little dreams. Buy the sports car you always wanted, go to that exotic locale that’s always held your fascination, learn how to play the piano or speak Italian. If some people think your vision of a well-lived life is a bit goofy or off-beat, who cares? It isn’t their life. It’s yours.
