Default Studying medicine helpful?

I am curious if there are people here who studied medicine or neurology. I'm especially interested in how it affected their views on spirituality, consciousness and awareness.

Do you think these studies can be helpful in understanding spirituality?

Default The Eastern and Western divide

Spirituality is one of the things that divided Eastern medicine from Western medicine. Certainly if you study Shamanistic or Ayurvedic medicine, you will see great spiritual influence in those medical theories. But, if you are looking for spirituality in Western scientific medicine, then the glass gets a little cloudier. It is not specifically taught, however, I have seen people use an Eastern mindset to study Western medicine, and had some interesting revelations. If you are looking for spiritual proofs though, medicine does not seem to be the proving ground (pardon the pun) for it.
