Default dark night of the soul

How does one cope with this dark night of the soul? What are some good coping mechanisms while going through this process and how long does it usually last?

Souls have facades and external moods just like our brains. Who you really are physically or spiritually goes beyond the immediate state. Form mini goals to work past the current states. Ask yourself who you are, really? You're not a miserable person at the core of your being, right? You're a hip dude! So quit doing what miserable people do and do what the hipsters are doing.

It is a test and should be seen as such, people will tell you a lot of things but in the end only you know what its like. The old is giving way to a new paradigm and a kind of rebirth of the soul. Just ride it out, because in the end the only true death is the death of what was.

Well I can tell you that I personally begged for light... to be lifted from where I was......... because I did not know what was happening to me.......... However after it has passed, you are a much more peaceful contented person
with a new found purpose and meaning.... it is like you have to have it to know the joy available ....

My earliest growing pains seemed to go on for years though now I generally cycle through in a matter of hours or at most a few days, making it through each time that much happier. It's the peeling of an onion. Tears can be shed, but in the end it's liberating. I generally go for a walk and do my best to just watch the process. The walk is both good for processing and getting away from people for a little while so I don't offend them as I work through things.

For me I could not even relate to or with people, nothing anyone said could comfort me, my footing was shaky to say the least, nothing solid to grab ahold of .......... I never felt more alone , I kept thinking about Jesus in the wilderness.... or in the garden alone... crying out to God... in that time, I questioned myself, my exsistance, my faith and God was he real? However it also must be noted that it was the worst experience I have ever had with a crashing depression......so couple that with a spiritual crisis it may have made it worse.....

The good thing is ..... my faith is more solid now than it ever was!... my view* is clearer... and I have much more respect and appreciation and gratitude than I ever have experienced ....

There is a song I heard a while ago , if I can find it I'll post it , it is called "In The Garden Again" by Roy Joseph.... it kind of reminds me of what I felt like
