Subjective reality is a perspective, a way of looking at the information you already perceive. I don't think of it as a separate belief system any more than hearing or eyesight is a belief system. It's not a matter of believing or not believing in it. It's merely a question of whether you find the perspective valuable or not. It adds a new perspective to what you already perceive -- it doesn't replace it. |

It took me months to 'get' Steve's understanding of belief, because it was such a paradigm shift for someone who was essentially the poster boy for objective reality. He seemed to go back and forth on what he believed and so I wondered the same thing initially. Now I am quite on the other side of the fence.

Originally I didn't really get SR either, because it kept reminding me of solipsism despite Steve explicitly explaining that it isn't. I came from the Advaita/Non-duality background, and they use slightly different terms/explanations/concepts for what is essentially the same thing. But now I really understand where Steve is coming from, it's just my own confusion about the labels and terminology that is used. So for those who are questioning SR but still believe in traditional non-duality, just stick with what feels right with you and try to see the (same) meaning behind all the labels and words. |

I just posted a new article that should help clarify subjective reality a bit more: Subjective Reality vs. Solipsism And I have another article queued to post the following day on a related topic. |

I found the article interesting. I have had a few lucid dreams in my life, and my experiences with LOA and now subjective reality have led me to think waking life is a lucid dream as well. Still, it's one of those things where the more you try to understand it and put it into words, the more confusing it seems to become. When you decide to just experience it, it makes sense, even if you can't necessarily "understand" it on a conscious level. I suppose I am everything, and everything is me, and while everything is a projection of me, it's not really ME that is creating this, because I am a projection of something else, consciousness. Or something. |
