I have to agree.

I could go off on what I have learned, but I will let the sources do the teaching. Of couse these are not the only things I have come across, but are the main cream of the crop imo.

After having watched that video I decided to do some more research into the topic of 2012 and came across Articles

For some interesting academic+journalistic+experiential research/postulation on 2012, check out Daniel Pinchbeck's 2012: The Return of the Quetzalcoatl. Very interesting stuff, although you'll have to make your own decision on some of his interpretations.

Pretty much every major religion/philosophy points to a change in the human condition -- an "end of era" sequence of events that will lead into a higher state of existence for humankind. Each one has its own take, but the commonality definitely gets you thinking.

In the end, I think it's much less about destiny and more about the collective freewill of humanity. Will we choose to progress under an ego-based framework, or will we choose to progress under a spirit-based framework. They seem to lead down two very different paths.

As for me, I'm working towards the latter.

I think the planet is always evolving spiritualy but it is a stretch to claim a spiritual awakening I think. "Heaven on earth" arrives on December 21, 2012, so there is still time I suppose.

I forget, what is the date the world will end again? I'm trying to get all these dates straight in my head.

I agree; this awakening has been happening for some time now. I think it's great that people have more ways to connect now than in the past, like the internet for example. The distances between us are becoming smaller and smaller. Even if we can't connect in person, we can connect in mind with our thoughts and learn from a larger range of people from different backgrounds. I have recently been wondering; what is the next phase of this transition from the old way of thinking to the new way of the awakened spirit? I'm sure that we will soon reach a place where spiritually minded people outnumber those still attached to the old way of living, how will we coexist peacefully with people predisposed to fight for a lifestyle that they essentially do not want? What is the destination we should be focusing on to get us all to the next step where living a spiritual life starts from day one?

I read some of the things tropicality put on there, those links. What the hell are they talking about? Some kind of fifth dimension where we all live in some sort of community, but we can't leave the third dimension behind???? Is this some kind of Scientology or something? I don't know, but it all seemed pretty far-fetched....just my thoughts....but I do agree that a spiritual awakening is coming up, maybe Jesus will make an appearance, just to say, "Hey."

Hehe, in time when one becomes ready, things tend to make more sense, but I will try and explain. Basically the 4th dimension (4D) is in which we escape into our conciousness via meditation etc. and access our 'guides' and really feel like our spirit or something else is communicating with us. And the 5D is where we are heading, achieving the next level of spirituality - where we will be able to constantly remain in a state of being conciously connected to the universal unconcious spirit and 'our guides' and other human beings while still having the ability to remain 3D (3D meaning able to experience 'physical' reality) or leave the 3D behind and move on. One example then of someone who has become 5D is Buddha (anyone care to share some more examples?). I do not know any other way to explain it at this time. Also, the internet is the 3D counterpart that represents this 5D conciousness, where we are able to connect with any other human being and store our memories.

All in all the content there has really opened my eyes, I really feel my purpose on earth now, I knew there was one, but I just did not realize why I was having all these thoughts I could not explain.. but now I know why I am having them, and know where I am going.

What's the significance of 2012? Who picked out this date?

I've heard people talk of "earth's awakening" for over three decades now, brandishing dates that have all come to pass into insignificance. So I am just wondering what makes 2012 different.

12/21/2012 is the date pointed to by the ancient Mayan long-count calendar as the end of the world. Or at least, the end of the world as presently understood. It's interesting stuff; take a look at Daniel Pinchbeck's 2012: The Return of Quetzacoatl for some interesting research, both academic and experiential, on the topic.

We should recognize that collectives operate after much the same patterns as individuals. Individuals experience growth, evolution, expansion, contraction and revolution, and collectives do as well. Collectives experience awakening and expansion of consciousness, and likewise they experience the dissonance of spirit and matter vibrating in the same space: ego. Just as individual ego fights against spiritual expansion, the collective ego resists the collective awakening. The more we spread awareness and peace the closer we come to collective enlightenment and the more the collective ego will backlash. But as we continue to live in the present and accept the world for what it is (while acting to elevate it), the more we disempower ego and hasten its retreat.

Ah, the Mayan calendar. I wonder if anyone ever pondered that the calendar stops on that date not because it is significant (other than being on a solstice) but because the author had to stop at some point . In any case the current significance attached to that date is completely open to interpretation and the bottom line is no one knows what it really means.

Why would this be so? What are the collectives? Who are the individuals? Do all the individuals form a collective and if so do they remain individuals? Do all the collectives form a single collective, fractals perhaps? I am not being facetious and mean no disrespect. But I would suggest that finding the answers to those questions would serve a better purpose than contemplating the end of the world or whether everyone will awaken together. Just a thought

2012... I('m reminded of Robert Anton Wilson's calculation based upon the amount of scientific knowledge he estimated existed in the world at 1AD (which he called 1 jesus, in honour of the famous philosopher born around that time)

According to his estimation, this amount of knowledge doubles by 1500 and then again by 250. It continued to double at an increasing rate, so that by 1900 we had 8 jesuses, 1950 - 16 jesuses, 1960 - 32 jesuses and so on... though this is not a regular progession, I'm sure I recall him suggesting that the graph went asymptotic (tended toward infinity) aroung 2012

Well, there is some site that is a business that predicts future using maths algorhytms or so. They say they work for the US gov sometimes... They say there will be a huge change in the next years till 2011-2012.

It is VERY strange that so many beliefs point to the same date... (Biblic prophecies, Maya, algorithms...)

Wikipedia explains why the calendar stops at 2012. You can compare it to writing Pi as 3.14 instead of an infinite sequence of digits.

It's quite an amusing proposition, and if you choose to think along the lines of intention manifestation and the Law of Attraction then i don't see why the world as we know it wouldn't end for you on that date.
The simple confidence that you can have in information like this can easily create enough energy in your life to project a world ending event into your reality.
I have seen some people on this forum use LoA, IM and subjective reality when it suits their immediate purpose (responding to posts thoughtfully and topically). The great stuff really begins to happen when all of these concepts merge, sometimes they may seem contradictory but that should not deter us. I have no idea who said this but i dig it

Well, I had read the book of Barbara Hand Clow called Pleiadian Agenda and this book change my life, I belive that 2012 will be the great party when we are going to pass a shift and the people in conditions to ascension will have biggest power.

peace , that is all true andy, but, i would suggest , worlds are realities we make as humans, and the idea , in which this reality is made, thus it produces pain , which in one sense is helpful and in another sense , senseless, so their need to be a change of ideas, to produce a new world.
