There's this girl at school who is the social events officer of the student organization and she doesn't even acknowledge me at our socials at school...all the other officers at least say 'hi.' wtf? she talks to the other officers. to me she just comes across as stuck up. i mean, seriously? what is this, a night club? it doesn't make sense considering it's grad school and she's probably 24, and she's the social chairperson for pete's sake. you would think she have the guts to at least say hi to a fellow classmate?

The bigger question is, why are you so fixated on this one girl? Do you like her or something?

I'm guilty of this from time to time. Sometimes the person is just shy and doesn't know what to say. I probably shouldn't making excuses for it...don't take it personally. It's not about you.

no i don't like her; it's just strange to me...part of me wants to indirectly call her out on it...like ask her in a nonchalant, curious tone what her officer position is and what her duties are, lol....or even introduce myself which I think may seem silly haha

Personally, I wouldn't have any problem doing either, that seems to be the quickest way to eliminate such awkwardness.

I don't think anybody owes anybody anything. In this case, acknowledgement applies. We live for ourselves ultimately.
