I am still figuring out how this forum works. I am one of those who never posted on any forums or even visited one. This is my first and I need some help

Well, that was hostile. And from a moderator - on a personal development forum that allegedly promotes love and compassion no less.

Maybe now that was the first and last attempt that person will make at trying to use a forum.

This forum is titled personal development for smart people. It's not personal development for people who lack either the intellectual capability or the willingness to learn about the social norms of the place they are entering.

Loving people means that I don't throw him out but give him a chance to work on his issue. It doesn't mean that I won't point it out to him.

Not everyone may agree with everything that is posted but there are thousands of people here and all of them have a viewpoint - just some viewpoints may be a bit stronger than others. I hope you haven't been discouraged from posting again. I know that getting used to a forum for the first time can be daunting, especially for newer computer users, so I understand if you were overwhelmed by the amount of links on the screen and might have missed the forum rules. (They're at the top of each forum category page.) It's worth reviewing before you post: Personal Development for Smart People Forums - Announcements in Forum : Social & Relationships

However, Brutha & I have something in common in that we both respect this forum very much and want it to be a positive experience for all participants. And I think he was just showing you some tough love. (although a smiley is helpful in such cases)

Anyway, I completely agree with Lynn. In fact, I got value from reading her post twice.

Again, welcome to the forum! This place is totally my favorite forum on the entire web, and it's always a delight to see new friendly faces.

I'm still pretty new here, too.

Just like in the "real" world, there are ALL kinds here (although most of them really are smarter than average). Doesn't mean a #%$^ thing. Smart isn't always better.The best advice I can give you, if you are new to internet forums, and chose to start here....take nothing personally, always give another chance, respect yourself no matter what anyone says, and respect others as well as you can....
