Default Love Triangles

One thing I've noticed in novels and films (especially novels and films like Twilight and The Hunger Games) is that Love Triangles seem to be hugely popular with audiences. i.e. Two people in love with the same person and the person being in love with the two people.

Has anyone ever been in a real life Love Triangle situation as in yourself being in love with two people and the two people being in love with you in which you had to choose between the two?

I've not been in a situation like this though it is somewhat intruiging.

I think I have, but you'd have to confirm that with the other parties.

It was not a glorious position to be in. It's one of those, "if i could go back," I would have handled it better.

I was in a situation where I had to choose between a girlfriend and my ex girlfriend who was interested in me again.

It was a very difficult emotional experience to be in, given all the complexities; much different than the mostly-BS romance novels put it.
