[ADULT] can i get a second opinion on masterbation?

Hey all im 14 i am a male and i have sexual urges all the time i used to masterbate alot but have recently stoped do u think this could have eny effects on me? Also when i do it makes me feel kinda bad cause i think about how all the girls dont do it and it makes me feel like they are better then me and that i am pathetic. can i get a womans/girls opinion on what they think about guys who do masterbate?

Im sorry if this is really weird i feel weird just writing it here.

I've never known a male past the age of puberty who didn't masturbate. I would particularly expect a teenaged boy to spend a lot of time at that particular activity (hormones and all that).

And... what makes you think that girls/women don't masturbate? Granted, they're probably somewhat less likely to admit it (and certainly teenaged girls are NOT going to talk about it to teenaged boys such as yourself), but believe me, they do. Girls are full of hormones, too, you know, and the same kinds of biological urges and impulses as boys (although, culturally and socially, there are more reasons for girls to hide or try to control them).

Maybe. You may have some sex-guilt issues, or just have beliefs somewhere in your head about masturbation being bad or wrong or even that pleasure, itself, is bad or wrong. I can't begin to guess what's in your head, but you can start to think about it and maybe start to see where these things come from. Once you get good at introspection, you become more and more self-aware, and that's when the really good positive stuff starts to happen. Also, as you get older, you get generally less worried about stuff like masturbation. Some people don't, but most of us kind of outgrow worrying about it, because we learn from experience and just time in general that it's a pretty minor concern when all things are considered. And this is NOT me trying to be all "I'm older so I'm superior" or anything. Just, I do remember quite vividly what it was like to be young and worried about all kinds of stuff. I just want you to know that for most people, it gets better.

What doesn't sound right? Girls masterbating? Ask the women on these forums whether they masterbate and I'm sure the majority will say yes. I think it is a normal way for men and women to explore their sexuality. I experimented with the whole multiple orgasm thing for a bit, but didn't like it. I also experimented with touching my self in different places just to see what I liked.

Yeah, women masturbate. They touch them selves. It is normal.

There was another thread a few months back asking women (and perhaps men too? ) about their masterbating habits. I'll try to dig around for it tomorrow and post the link.

Umm not only do girls do it, but they usually start much younger too! (I think I was about 7 when I figured it out ). So, yeah, don't worry about it. It is perfectly normal to have sexual urges/desires whether you are male or female!

There's probably some social and/or familial conditioning causing you to feel bad. Somewhere along the line, someone has instilled in you the feeling that this is a forbidden act. It's not; it's perfectly natural.

You shouldn't feel bad. At the same time that almost everyone masturbates, has masturbated, or will masturbate, doesn't mean they go around telling everyone about it. So if someone tries to make fun of you or make you feel bad, turn it back on them and tell them to quit spying on you, sickos

I think this is the thread I was talking about. Im not sure though. There are so many threads on masturbation.

Anyway, the point I am sort of getting at is that it helps to talk to other people about your sexuality (and other areas of your life!). Only then youll realize that all the weird things you have done are not actually all that weird as most people do the same thing.
