Reason I am asking this is my brother has red hair and cant seem to get a girlfriend. He is really nice, friendly, funny, fit, has a job, everything one would be looking for in a guy. We are trying to work out why girls will talk to him but then when he asks them out they turn him down?

I actually have a sort of a fetish for guys with red hair. In fact, one of my first flirts, had long, red hair, and set me up to be intoxicated with men with red hair. Also, I love freckles. Now I live in England, I am in heaven, as there are lot of ginger top men around. I don't know what it is with people with red hair. I had a friend who was this gorgeous girl with long red hair, and she said people at school constantly mocked her and bullied her. All I could see was how beautiful she was. |

I'm confident that the hair is not the problem, it's something else. I know guys with weirder features than red hair and they have no problems whatsoever with their dating life.

If you think there is a problem, then there will BE a problem. I mean, I know plenty of girls into red hair. I'm not really myself... I think it's because I don't like freckles (cause I HAVE freckles A lot of really short guys think they won't get a girlfriend, but one of the shortest guys I know (he's probably about 5'4") can EASILY get girls. I think state of mind has a lot more to do with it than any particular feature of appearance! Yeah, it doesn't help when there's a lot of negativity out there regarding particular traits, but it's not everyone who feels that way. I've had a LOT of hangups in the past about my appearance, but some of the things I've thought were bad, others have told me are actually good (or good for them, not necessarily everyone |

Not so much, though I could have been brainwashed by the prevailing attitudes about red haired males during my teenage years...but no, they don't do much for me. I seem to have heard that from most woman I've known growing up, so I'm not sure if it's just something I took on without realizing it? There was a red haired man I knew a few years ago, and his girlfriend who was my friend couldn't get enough of him, but he didn't really do much for me visually, though he was interested in me. (They had an open relationship deal) I think red haired women with freckles on the other hand are gorgeous. I kissed a red haired freckly woman in a spa once. I have to see the whole package (...get your mind out of the gutter, people, you know what I mean) but in general, yes. I lost my V card to a redhead, actually. I didn't even know there was this thing against gingers until a couple years ago. Like Votoshka and Eduard E, I'd say that hair color (and physical appearance in general) matters relatively little to women. Confidence and a self-assured attitude probably matter more than looks. |

I've been with all kinds of guys, fat, thin, brown-haired, blond, curly hair, straight hair, no hair, big googly eyes, short, werewolf-hairy back. I like to go for the whole package with a person and honestly I'd take an "ugly but interesting looking" guy over a perfectly sculpted 'Bold and the beautiful" type guy any day, so physical appearance isn't that big a deal...but yeah, confidence will always win out above the physical. There just has to be something about their face that is interesting to me.

It could be his attitude. For instance, he might feel that women won't talk to him because he has red hair so he doesn't fully put himself out there. I have a friend with red hair who tears it up with the ladies as he has a positive self image. Hair color has very little to do with it. If he thinks that is the main cause, he can always try dying his hair. |

| Oooh, now HE is luscious. I think I may need to renig on the whole "Bold and the Beautiful" spiel I just gave earlier. Come to mamma...*drool* That is the most amazing shade of red I've seen on a man. I'd like to be covered in his hair I think...like curtains. |

I've gone out with more than one redheaded guy. I generally don't hold a man's hair colour against him (though I do tend to prefer brunettes, just as a general rule). And, truth be told, I like red pubic hair. It's pretty interesting to look at. |

I've had crushes on a couple of red-headed guys over my life time I even found David Caruso attractive a few years ago before he got that 'just had a facelift' look. ![]() I bet he never had any problems getting girlfriends! Funnily enough, there are quite a lot of red-haired freckly Egyptians in the northern parts /Cairo and Delta areas (known as 'lower Egypt') |

There is this guy at work who has the sexiest voice with an irish accent. I love it when he speaks over the P.A (he's married though). To me, voice is everything. If the guy has a voice that doesn't do it for me, then it really doesn't matter what he looks like or what color hair he has. Last edited by elucidate; 11-17-2011 at 01:51 PM.

I don't like my own voice. It's quiet and I have a difficult time projecting it.
