Default Moving thousands of miles to find love...

Hey!

I have been thinking over the past few weeks, when one day I decided I was going to move to New York (I'm from New Zealand) in order to find love and hopefully marriage!
Obviously this will not happen for maybe another 2 years.. But I have this strong pull, to go! So I have already started researching about opportunities there..
I find life to be completely and utterly boring without a companion, and someone who I can really invest my time with..

What would you suggest?

Write this down and come back to it in two years. Make your decision then.

Don't get me wrong...I think the ambition to move overseas is great! BUT what makes you think it will be easier to find love in NY than where you're currently living?

Start looking into immigration now. It can be quite difficult to immigrate to the U.S., and even to get a visa to work. Start your research into it now and see what's available, how to apply, etc.

However, if you just want to find a somewhat bigger "dating pool", you might consider coming to Australia, instead. Not as big a population as the U.S., obviously, but bigger than New Zealand, and quite multi-cultural in the capital cities like Sydney and Melbourne, and as a NZ citizen, you don't need special permission to work or live in Australia (I think you still have to apply for a visa, but I don't know what the process is; it's pretty much free borders, though).

I can't explain why it is that makes me want to go to New York so much more.. It came into my head.. Like my intuitions kinda kicked me, and said "HEY! Go here!" So, the goal is to go.. It'll be an exciting adventure for sure!

I can understand the difficulty of getting visas etc to work in the US, but that makes the journey so much more exciting, and I understand the challenges ahead! Even if I did find true love, there will be even more on the table! I find that quite thrilling:-D

I have thought about Australia.. I don't know what it is, but I have no desire to go.. Hmmm, maybe a holiday? Ha.
Ya, we're able to come over and literally live like any normal citizen can.. What an advantage ha? We're very lucky here lol. Admit it, you Australians need us! Hehehe.

We like it when you come to Australia and then get famous, like Russel Crow or Sam Neil. Then we can claim you as Australian. We're still waiting for Peter Jackson, but you can keep Rachel Hunter.

And, of course, we do like to muck yer exsent. (I got that from Flight of the Conchords, by the way )
