Default Help with gf living in London

Hey guys

I am here with my gorgeous girl...And I want her to stay in London with me.

The problem is that she is from Belarus and they don't have an agreement with the UK. She has a visitors visa to stay until June, but that's it.

Basically I am looking for any means to allow her to stay.

I thought :

(i) Student - she can register on a course and stay here as a student. Apparently she will then be allowed to work part time.
(ii) Modelling agencies - she can become a model and they can arrange a working contract for her
(iii) Marriage!

My questions :

(i) Does anyone know a belarussian person who would be willing to talk to us to explain how they stayed here?
(ii) Where is the best place to start enquiries to help her to stay here (Belarussian Embassy in London??)
(iii) Does anyone know of a solicitor / lawyer who can advise on this situation?
(iv) Does anyone know of a networking site / socail event where Belarussian people meet where we can attend and ask questions?

Any advice is ENORMOUSLY appreciated!! You would be helping with TRUE LOVE!!

Thanks guys..

I don't have any practical experience of this situation but my advice would be to start of with the Citizens Advice Bureau. They give advice on hundreds of areas and without a doubt they will be able to point you and your gf in the right direction and help you contacts etc.
Good luck

Hi, I have been moving around countries all my adult life, so ... this is what I know:

Since you want her to live in the UK, you don't have anything to do with the Belarussian Embassy. You must deal with the immigration authorities in the UK to find out what is required for her to stay and what the alternatives would be. Belarus will only care if you want to live in Belarus.

To find people living there from Belarus, you could contact the Belarussian Embassy in London and ask if there are social events or groups of people from Belarus that meet.

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but it would be a start: Border & Immigration Agency | Border and Immigration Home
