Yeah, I get the gushing too. All women are different, but it'd be interesting to see at what point that occurs during your personal cycle. There will always be secretions, except right after your period and right before, but their quality changes. You can also tell when you ovulate by taking your waking body temperature every morning, before you get up to do anything (even pee!). Temperature will fluctuate with things like illness (obviously, if you have a fever), alcohol consumption, and some other outside factors, but generally your temp will shoot up immediately after you ovulate and stay on that level until your period. This is possibly an easier sign to determine fertility than cervical fluid, but again, all women are different.

I've never thought to take my temperature before I wake up, but I might do a 30 day trial to see what interesting stuff goes on for me...you've inspired me. It's actually something I've wanted to get back into lately, but have felt this general malaise or apathy towards it. I do observe the change in quality of my secretions, but I don't always determine the meaning behind them, I just notice "Oh, that's a bit claggy today."

Oh, they're all bad! To be fair, "fluids" is awful too, but the substitutes I can think of are "liquids" and "juices", and none of this is sexy. I like talking about sex, but talking about sex is not sexy, because the words we use are always so terrible! The only sex talk I ever found sexy was in a language I couldn't understand, that was hot. Every time a guy tries to talk sexy by calling women "yummy" or "tasty", a part of me dies inside. But yes, I have to admit, that was a squirmish conversation to have. I even squirmed when typing the words secretion and fluids...and claggy!

Still, it's a normal part of life, and I like that we are free to talk about it here. So many natural functions are taboo to talk about as adults...when did that happen?

I was really embarrassed about it the first time it happened, but the guy I was with at the time was very supporting and it turned him on quite a bit. Then he always seemed on a quest to make it happen again and after a while I figured out exactly how to make it happen. It's just another fun alternative at this point. I can have all sorts of types of orgasms.

Oh it's nothing for you to be sorry about.
