I'm a senior about to graduate. I'll be moving from Germany (Military kid) to a place I know pretty much nothing about. My best friend lives there but she'll be staying with her family as I move into my own apartment. I'm used to staying alone in my room and what not, I get lonely sometimes but that's not what I'm worried about (she'd be just down the street). Whats it like being alone? living in a strange place? I'm a big fan of CSI and grew up with a family of Cops and Military, so I'm used to horror stories, anyone ever feel unsafe living alone or were concerned about it? thanks |

It all depends on how much alone time you like. I love alone time. Doing what I want, having time with my thoughts. I wish I could have more. But that's me. I'm sure that much of your fears of being alone are an expression of concern about change, etc. It will be fine. Just take your time and enjoy it. It will probably be a wonderful life experience. It's good that you have a friend already, as it's nice to have someone to share your new experiences with and to give you some familiarity. You could go out together and explore your new surroundings. You don't say where you are, so it's hard to know if where you are is a safe place, but most places are ok so long as you know where the bad areas are and avoid them (every area has bad places). Regarding CSI, I'm a huge fan myself. Horratio is just the coolest guy ever Give it time. I'm sure you'll love it. Take care of yourself. |

I'm a single parent, so I can't say I live alone, but I do like to travel alone when I can. It gives me more opportunities to meet people, make new friends and have exciting experiences. It may take some time to adjust to having your own space with a lock on the door and no one in the next room, but I think you'll find the world is a pretty open and friendly place. Enjoy it! |
