Default Breakup Support website

I've noticed a lot of posts lately about breakups and what to do...

Especially for men.

There seems to be a lack of resources for this kind of thing.

Anyone think there is a need?

I mean, there's... some... stuff out there. But it's mostly spam.

I think it's a great idea.

Given the general trend of your beliefs about relationships, though, I think you'd have to expand your perspective beyond the evolutionary biology stuff for it to be effective (note: I didn't say successful ).

Agreed, I think most people would be hating on the "all men care about looks" and "all women are prostitutes idea".

I think it's a great idea. Especially if you have a variety of "experts" or support people, some who are analytical, like you, some who will give helpful tips -- like me! -- some who will listen and give feedback, and plenty who will hand people kleenex and say "there, there" - figuratively speaking.

That could be a very popular site - good idea, 180!

Actually I was thinking of getting someone from this site to get a woman's perspective on breakups and the such.

Mostly because even though I'm 100% of my ideas, I don't want to present ONLY my perspective, as I'm sure alternate perspectives are just as valid... in their own way. In fact, there could even be articles where a female and I could provide alternative view points for the reader to consider. You know, contrast and such.

The big question for me is if I want to narrow it to

When men experience their first breakup.

OR

To relationships in general.

The main appeal would be MY (tada!) evolutionary psychologists perspective and a set of biological and empirical sets and experiences to back it up.

As of now, I'm mostly considering to limit it to when Men experience their first breakup.

It's a very hard time, and there are resources for women, but not for men. And frankly if men do want help they have to pay $9.99

LOL! The last thing a man wants after a Breakup is to be drilled by evolutionary theories on our libido and its drive to procreate!

Men just want to sit next to their closest confidants, be listened to and best of all, understood!

I find the best way to deal with break up is hot showers, and to be left alone in a (preferably soundproof) room, with lots of crying, introspection, water (to rehydrate! ). If I can grieve uninhibited, and trace insecurities to what they are, I generally do great But maybe I'm just weird.

Don't forget a doona cover to hide under for days at a time, and as much chocolate and ice-cream as you can manage without getting sick.

Alcohol is to be avoided...but sometimes it's ok to just get drunk.

After my last crap-tacular breakup that gave me pause, I would occasionally look around online for other peoples experiences. Mostly I just found the same generic advice. An entire website with different perspectives and experiences would have been cool. It still would be helpful actually.

If I'm feeling down after a break up, the last thing I'm gonna want to hear is that she just cheated on me because she was attracted to his superior genes, and maybe were trying to hold on to me as a safe provider mule to raise her illegitimate offspring (or that this rationale was her subconscious modus operandi).

Eh, no thanks.
