I can see how the idea of a sperm head penetrating an ovum could be seen as a metaphor for sexual penetration, and the fusion of gametes as a metaphor for two lovers becoming "one flesh", so I see how one could find that erotic, though.

When I think about a million sperm all swimming towards one destination, one egg, all competing for that one egg...to get inside it...it does sort of sound very sexual and erotic. I see it more as being a magickal moment...a seed being planted where life takes form and starts to grow. It fills me with wonder more than erotic feelings. |

I know what you're talking about because the thought has crossed my mind, but it's not a big thing for me. There is a tangent that's interesting though. After a pregnancy a woman's body changes in several ways. Stretch marks can appear, hip shape changes, and more. Most women are pretty mortified by those changes--they become ashamed of their bodies. That makes me sad because I find those changes extremely feminine--it's like the ultimate expression of being a woman, a basically permanent mark of honor that she's fulfilled her femininity by bearing children. To me it's not unattractive at all; it's almost romantic in a strange sense. |

Why would the possibility of dirty diapers, child support, and 18 yrs of responsibility turn anyone on?? Or the scientific mechanics of biology of meiosis and mitosis? Unless you're with your spouse trying for kids... but I've noticed the people trying for kids are focused more on the image of babies... and less on raw sexy passion. The most erotic thing is instead the idea of connection between two spirits. It's the total lack of inhibition... just raw passion and heat. |
