Cause I'm not. In fact, I could be souless. There's not a funny bone in my body. And actually I have an inferiority complex because I lost the girlfriend I loved to a "funny" guy. So like any man, I'm "evolving" and trying to learn how to be funny. Really sucks. I'd have a better time teaching mice break dancing. Any advice? Hell any comment on why women love funny guys would be great too. |

I don't know...that line about having a better time teaching mice to breakdance was kinda funny I thought. Are you sure you're not funny? I used to think I wasn't funny, and some people didn't think so either, but some did. It all depends on the individuals idea of what funny is. Maybe you're funnier than you think? |

I've been searching the internet for a while on this... "Funny" thing. As far as I can gander, funny is a realease of Endorphins and an increase of T-cells that improve immunity. That's about all I've learned.

Compatibility is intimately associated with a similar sense of humour. If you pretend to have a different sense of humour to what you really have, you won't meet a compatible partner. You need to be yourself. If you feel like being funny, but haven't got the confidence, that's different - but if you just don't need to be funny, then I would suggest 'To thine own self be true' |

Yes, I'm sometimes funny. In real life, I'm often spontaneously funny, but not funny when I'm trying to be, so I'm like a clown rather than a comedian.. It's a matter of not thinking, really Because if you have a sense of humour, it shows you have a soul. It breaks the ice. I think, most guys I know aren't funny, and people who are always trying to be funny aren't funny, and sometimes just put other people down by trying. Maybe you need to learn to laugh with people, rather than learn to make people laugh, does that make sense? |

I thought you knew you were witty I can be funny when I want to be but it's not "on" all the time because, well, I am not much for being an entertainer. But I have my moments... Are you sure this girl chose the guy because she thought he was funny and you weren't? Could it be his brand of humor matched her needs more, or even maybe she just didn't want to hurt you so she focused on this as the reason? I find it hard to believe that you aren't aware of being a funny person... I guess you could try spending less time listening to neurotic Victorian women talk about their fathers, and use that new free time to explore your inner comedian... |

Why would you study the internet to try and be funny? Want to know how you can learn to be funny? Watch funny people. Go grab some stand up comedy, watch comedy movies, ready comedy books. In other words, immerse yourself in comedy and release your "critical" eye for that kind of thing and just go with it. The more you immerse yourself in that kind of thing, the funnier you'll become. Monkey see, monkey do. |

I can empathise with your post. Part of the reason for my seriousness is my struggle with social anxiety. I don't have a knack for cracking jokes but doing funny things. I looked up a resturant's menu online to see if they had a cuban sandwich. My boss thought this was funny of me and tells me I am funny. Another person may not find this funny. Like another poster said, it all depends on the person. Some of my humor is random, odd. Some people are turned off by that. But, at least its genuine instead of trying to be something I am not. I've found the more relaxed one is, the more likely play and fun is shown. |

I'm only funny for a very select group of people At the moment it's just me. Honestly, I'm not funny at all in general. I can make comments at times that come out funny or tell a funny story, which I see as true, but almost never because I try to be funny. Once I told the story of the bible with my own interpretation. One of the things was that Jesus was the very first hippie. Not extremely funny in my eyes but the people in the car were laughing... ? I don't want a funny guy either. I want somebody who cares, who loves, who I can talk seriously to. Funny is overrated. |

Yes, I am funny. I know my humor style. Not everyone finds me humorous. Those people are idiots. My humor has been learned. I have always appreciated humor and laughed often. Getting around funny people, watching sitcoms, stand-ups and noticing what other people found funny helped me. Knowing myself helped me the best. I tend to be a story teller and am highly observant so I pick up on stuff, wrap a story around it and serve it up for the diners to enjoy. In short, I am funny because I say so. Unless you are an idiot. Most people do not want to be idiots so they laugh. |

Well.. I thought this was funny As other people have said, you can learn how to do it, I've seen people do it. And I agree with dulaney0330, ''trying too hard'' to be funny only creates pressure, so take baby steps...''the more relaxed one is, the more likely play and fun is shown.'' My sense of humour has always been my ''strong'' point ( I'm not sure if sense of humour is important for men as well (i mean when looking for partners) cuz I've come across some men that felt they had to 'compete'' with me

180, whenever you post something, I always read it in the voice of how I picture your default picture's guy would say it. He's like walking around with that cigar, contemplating things and scratching his head with maybe a dark colored cat mingling around in the room somewhere.
