OK, I'm not thinking of this getting explicit, so I didn't mark it explicit in the subject. (EDIT: Scratching this. Some explicit things came up, so I'm marking this thread ADULT.)

I've just heard lots of women say "Men see the girls in porn, and think all women should look like that .."

And things along those lines. But I've never had a thought like that, myself. And looking at the guys I know, I don't think I know a single guy who wants women to look like porn stars.

So guys - what do you think? Do you want women to look like porn stars? Do you think women are less attractive if they don't look like porn stars?

Sasha Grey. I find her attractive also as an individual. She just did a mainstream role in a steven soderbergh film and is getting a lot of buzz as an artist/pornstar/actress. I like that.

She is attractive because she is just a regular, pretty girl. Not one of these fake human/animal hybrids.

All the rest are really just bodies. And if you stop watching porn all together, they won't turn you on at all after awhile.

I do not enjoy scripted pro porn. I also do not enjoy strip clubs or the idea of escorts. I like the "idea" of a female being into me. That is what I find attractive. She can have a variety of looks and I will still find her attractive.

For what it's worth, my husband finds the porn look completely gross. I know exactly what he likes in a woman, and the women in mainstream porn are definitely NOT it.

I think I said that, and it seemed like a logical conclusion to me that many men would like women to wear more make-up because this is what they are exposed to alot! If I'm wrong then I'll eat my hat...(but not the fuzzy one)

Can I ask though...why would porn directors insist on porn stars wearing loads of make-up if it wasn't what their audience wanted? Actors and actresses have to wear alot because of lighting and whatnot in regular films, so maybe it has to do with that. But when I see strippers wearing really cheap tacky clothes with 10 inch heels and cakes of mak-up on I can't help but think that somehow this is what alot of men want? If I'm wrong in my assumption then I'm wrong...but I'm sure they wouldn't do it if it wasn't what alot of men did want!

Can you see why I would think this PWL?

If you stop watching porn, it won't arouse you in the same way. That's because your brain confuses porn with being with a real woman. When you turn off the porn, you start seeking that female energy elsewhere, and the logical place to do that is with a real, breathing woman.

They don't not turn you on because they're ugly. It's because the 2D image will not be able to satisfy you.

I can see the logic, there. I just got interested because it hit me that I've heard loads of girls say things like this, but not once have I heard a guy say it.

Of course, I don't know any male porn stars. I probably don't know much about what they like.

I dated a few of the above and it depends on what type of venue they are dancing. High end clubs in Canada get a different look as opposed to the beer in a can places of Missouri. Lighting is an issue in that field as well. However, Dancers (strippers whatever) rarely have coaching as to what men want. Few of them split test their strategies but should. I tried to get my last "girl" to do such but she was happy making what she was making to mess with it.

Then again, strip clubs by default appeal to a fairly low denominator of fantasy as opposed to something like a Burlesque venue. Then again, I am not a fan of any of it as it largely bores me. The few times I have been to one I end up hitting on either the bartender or some guy's girlfriend while he is distracted with the fantasy on the stage.

Because there isn't plot for crap.

I've actually seen porn films were there are minor characters and supporting roles. I've even seen a couple with a sizable cast of extras; they're usually Japanese situationals. FTVGirls does something interesting where there's a central person, but sometimes one of the regulars joins in and they're usually very understated in comparison, often making it a point to walk out of view for long periods. You don't know they're in until you actually click through.

The men are called "male talent". Sometimes they even have names. -_- But who pays attention to that?

porn stars are ugly... the typical pornstar look is just ugly. I don't know why they do it that way.

But no guy who does the rating system puts porn stars on top. Porn girls are beautiful yes but their "look" is terrible.

Models and actresses (most actresses today are just models who play themselves in films really) would always top the rating system.

I often wonder if there are guys who actually like the porn star look. The look to me is characterized by way too much makeup and ridiculous tacky clothing. I'm forced to admit that there must be a lot of guys who like this, but to anyone with artistic taste... well... they look stupid.

The standard porn star type (blond, big boobs (silicon), silicon lips, heavy make-up) I don't find attractive. It's boring because too many women want to fit that template, and because too much artificial material is used.

On the other hand, a woman who experiments with her looks and her sexuality is definitely attractive!

And obviously, anybody who WATCHES porn and is able to get off from it finds the women they are watching attractive. So don't let anybody tell you differently, cause if they are, they are just trying to save face in some manner.

That being said, though, no, I do not expect all women to look like porn stars. And no, I don't expect my porn stars to be vixens with big breasts, flat stomachs, and perfect hips. There is a certain range of body sizes, shapes, etc. that I find attractive. My "standards" aren't really all that ridiculous I don't think. I tend to find "thicker" women more attractive, for example.

I wouldn't want my woman looking like a porn star simply because I have a tendancy to tag them with a stereotype that says shes looks like a porn star thus she's a slut.


This may sound stupid and out of place but I instantly get turned off by female porn stars the moment they get naked and still leave the glossy red high-heel shoes on. I honestly can't tell you why but as soon as they have nothing on except those I'm like "Lets see whats on ESPN!" I mean why go through all of that with shoes on. Despite that, I've found I'm fairly disinterested in about 70-80 percent of porn stars. I end up actually evaluating each one briefly with the thumbnails and most of them don't qualify for what I'm looking for. that is what i enjoy about it, what the actors are doing with each other.

if i didn't find them aesthetically pleasing i don't think i'd enjoy it as much. but i can enjoy watching what they do even if i think they wear too much makeup or if i find the shiny stilettos incredibly campy. if they do things to each other that are a turnoff for me, it doesn't matter how hot i think they are aesthetically as it won't override the turnoff effect.

Well... I'm certainly no porn expert (I don't think I ever watched a porn movie in its entirety), but based on what I have seen, those movies are clearly made for men. They focus on the girls and show them a lot, the men almost not, they are filmed mostly from the male perspective and in a way that allows the one who watches to identify with the male actors and to imagine that they're having sex with the women.

And some men happen to watch this, get aroused and masturbate. So, maybe I'm naive, but it seems quite logical to me that those men must find those women attractive. And that in some way, when they watch, they imagine having sex with them. Or not?

For example, I find Leonardo Di Caprio totally unattractive. If you made a porn movie showing Leonardo Di Caprio naked a lot, filmed from the perspective of the girl, in a way that I can imagine being the girl and having sex with Leonardo Di Caprio, I bet I would be totally unable to masturbate to it. I think I would find it pretty disgusting.
