yeah Wilt seemed like a nice guy, but seemed he was too egotistical to have any real relationships, and too addicted to sex. I guess.

I think everybody likes confidence, but nobody likes loud aggressive controlling people, or annoying people who kiss ass and don't like themselves. Guys and girls like the same characteristics I guess, but different energies.. (my new theory)

Giggling girls who play with their hair excessively as you talk to them, trying to act like they aren't nervous. "cylon I play with my hair excessively and it doesn't mean I'm nervous, it's just a force of habit from childhood" |

cylon are you saying that hair twirling is attractive to you? i would find that a bit annoying myself. to each his own though @brendan: yes sadist and masochist is a reasonable comparison i think. |

Although technically it is a rule to stay on topic, it is rarely a rule I try to follow in my forum career. It's hard to because conversations naturally evolve into other topics sometimes. I do generally think of social status as fame, money, position, power, etc. But for me, social status means nothing if I don't have substance. Celebrities who have status but not substance are the ones who become cokeheads. Quote:

But I absolutely respect the wish of the majority, so I didn't insist on returning to the initial topic. When the author of the OP continued in the discussion I retreated. It seems that sex is always the No.1 topic. But most people like much more to talk about it (and are better in talking about) than doing it. Specially some men.

Conversation grows. A long conversation inevitably touches a dozen different topics. If you have a point you're making or a question you're asking, then yeah, it pays to stay on topic. When people wander off an OP, it seems to imply that the original topic wasn't actually all that interesting.

aww that is silly... dominance and submission are powerful, somewhat charged terms, but people can be dominant without being *******. and submissive people don't just take every little thing that's dished out, though perhaps it takes more for them to assert themselves. there's a lot of submissive women out there, women are conditioned to be submissive. |

| I think it's actually flipping around so men are being conditioned to being submissive. If you use the word submissive these days women want to tie to you to a chair and force you to watch an entire college course on female empowerment, wondering why all of the sudden the life has gone out of your eyes when you look at them. But to each their own. |

| Oh, silly. You just did! I think what Cylon likes is the same thing most men like in a woman. I had a friend who described it like this: "I like a woman who knows she's hot (confident) but doesn't act like she's hot (arrogant)." I think this is an attractive quality for both men and women. It's just confidence, that's all. Now I'm not sure what planet everyone lives on, but it's clear to me that men still run the world on mine. So this whole idea of women beating men down is nonsense. Men are still presidents and rulers. Men don't face a glass ceiling. This whole conversation reminds me of the book, The Decline of Men. I haven't actually read this book but I "randomly" saw it today. Last edited by Daffy Duck; 11-08-2009 at 05:50 PM. |

and cylon, i'm sure you know, if you did not so often use the rhetoric of the emasculating woman, you would not get such reactions where women want to show you how much progress has been made with all that sensitivity training stuff. your comments don't bother me as much because i can tell you're comfortable with that outlook and why would i want to change it? you strongly resist such things anyway, and i can think of more productive ways to spend my time. now, where's my whip? p.s. i actually wrote "a hole" and it got asterisked.

cylon is a person who doesn't like conflict in any form. It's not fun for him. Then he applies that to relationships, as a relationship that's not fun is one not worth having. I think that explains his disagreements here.

The most important thing for a girl is to look at least nice. Then we can think whether it's a worthy partner or not, but we won't settle for someone who we don't find attractive. That's for starters.. Then, of course, between two girls which we find good looking we'll choose the one whose personality is more appealing to us (sacrificing, in most cases, a bit of looks for that.) But no matter how nice the personality, if looks don't appeal, it won't work. I may sound cruel and repulsive saying this, sure. But it's what 99% of the guys think, including me and my friends. Wise girls will know that! |
