Sorry if I'm already being considered as 'annoying' for posting many threads ( not complaining or ranting, just would like opinions and help that could lead to a change in me ) So, I may have already stated in my other long, kinda annoying sounding post that I am 19 years old, and I'm a guy. Well, people look at me and treat me like a little kid sometimes, at least that's what I think. Also, a lot of people like to put me at the center of attention, for some reason. Some people treat me unusually nicer, some just like to smile at me for no reason, I really don't know why. Is it because I look like a little kid? Maybe I'm baby-faced and I don't know it? But, it's weird, people like talk to me, like make jokes about this and that, but I on the other hand, is not social, and very shy..and I smile everytime I talk to someone, well most times. I don't get it, why am I treated like a little kid? It's hard to explain, I hope you understand, thanks for the replies. The replies in my previous threads have actually somewhat made me think about myself, and may slowly help me in improving myself, and getting rid of all the stupid thoughts and sentiments I have. |

When I was 17 I got told during class by my high school teacher "you're cute Brendan" and when I had long & curly hair and I was 26, I got asked at a party by some girl "are you 6?" and she was going on about how young I looked and started playing with my hair. (Mind you, we were all really drunk at that party) So often girls will act motherly towards me, but sometimes even guys will treat me that way, which can be weird.. So anyway, people are going to base you on your appearance, like if you change hair colour, change skin colour or change gender, people can't really help treating you differently. All you can do is treat yourself how you want to be treated. Does it bother you that you're being patronised and treated like you're immature? just treat yourself like a mature adult, and if they treat you like a little kid, don't reciprocate to it in a positive way, you don't have to be rude, but just don't smile back,. if they make you feel awkward. I had to do this once to some girl who was telling people how I'd always catch her spilling food and drink on herself, was starting to get embarrassing, so I just stopped smiling along with it... Sometimes I'm guilty of behaving childishly, but I like to have fun. Plus, it just means you seem non-threatening and kind. It would really suck if everybody thought you're a mean, and bad person, for no reason?

It's the people who come on to complain about their problems and who are not actually looking for help who some see as annoying. You are clearly seeking help, so you're fine Anyway, I think we all have something. I have facial hair and I don't eat meat, use soap(except on hands) or deodorant. Someone else might be shorter than everyone else. Someone else will have ginger hair. Someone else will have a really bad haircut. Someone else will have bad acne problems. Some people will always find something to pick on someone about, no matter how pointless it is. However, I'm not going to conclude this paragraph saying to live with it, but do what you can to fix it, if you feel it needs fixing.(I don't know the solution, sorry). And I'll also add that you might find some people around your age love to make fun of other people. I am 16 and I know my friends make fun of me, I make fun of them, and they make fun of each other. So if you see something similiar, just try to have fun with it.

Have fun with this. There may well come a time when you look back on this period of your life with nostalgia.
