I am not sure if this question fits into this category, but I thought cause this category includes "children",it may fit(dogs are abit like children)

Please consider adopting instead of buying. There are many breed specific shelters and you are pretty much guaranteed to find the breed you want and the dog you want if you research the matter well (which I'm sure you'd do anyway). Dogs generally end up in shelters because their humans had problems (of space, of time, of kids, of vacations, of boredom), not because there was anything wrong with them.
Please think of the impact of supporting rescue shelters and saving a dog from euthanasia by adopting, instead of supporting breeding more puppies in a world already full of unwanted puppies.

A few ressources to get started: Adopting from an Animal Shelter or Rescue Group | The Humane Society of the United States

Buying a Puppy | The Humane Society of the United States
