| YouTube - NYLON TV + MEGAN FOX Megan Fox says she does not consider herself a crazy girl, she does not smoke, drink or smoke junk. She likes to be at home and she considers herself "boring". It is interesting that many women think they may not be attractive if they are not wild and crazy. But certainly there is no need of being wild and crazy. If you are not crazy or wild, you may feel comfortable. There are famous people who are like YOU. People see fame and beauty like a big deal. But truth is that they are just workers, who are under intense marketing. For actors, it is just a job to be in the spotlight. The ones making big bucks without paparazzis are producers and executives. |

Your post makes me think of the lyrics to 'Say Hello, Wave Goodbye' Quote:
Personally I think smoking, drinking and smoking junk are fairly conventional and unimaginative ways of being crazy and wild!

It's true I think. All these things are so easy to get these days...and really, when you step outside that world and look at it from a sober persons pov, you have to wonder why they think that being drunk and stoned makes for an interesting person. Most people I see these days who still indulge in these things seem so boring to me, not interesting at all...and half of them will drink drive and not care who they might hurt...even themselves, plus they have no respect for anyone else BECAUSE they don't respect their own bodies. All these advertisements calling for people to not drink and drive actually makes good sense...but for some reason, making sense just isn't "cool" to them and is boring. I think there is nothing attractive about a supposedly intelligent adult dribbling and falling everywhere and then driving like a maniac all over the roads. Having said all that...I spent a few years exploring drugs and parties and alcohol...and it all seems fun and interesting when you are in that reality...and straight people are boring. I guess it just means that both straight and bent types are boring AND interesting...depending on whatever side of the fence you happen to be on at the time! I've actually been having temptations of going back to taking drugs as I've been feeling too straight and yeah, boring...but really, when I get passed all of that and remember how good it feels to not wake up in a puddle of my own puke or with the worst hangover in the history of the world, and surrounded by people who only hang out with me because I take drugs and drink like they do, and have never actually had a decent conversation with...I can't help but think it's better to be 'boring'. I live a pretty interesting life...no matter what anyone else might think...so that's all that matters really. |

I think sometimes society projects that everyone needs to be extraverted and wild to be interesting.. which is a bit ridiculous.. As well, I think it's just immature, to think that you need to be drunk and high to have a good time, and be cool.. I also think that if partying and drug taking is gonna bring you fun and happiness, then go for it, but personally from my observations (and some experience), what happens is that drugs become the only way of having a good time, and "getting high" then you become a more boring one dimensional person.. |

I've had the same conclusions about this. Also I've met loads of people who use drugs and alcohol regularly and they are just aggro at the best of times, and alot of them are pretty narrow minded as well, even though ,in that world, drug users generally THINK they are more open-minded than the straight people they despise and judge...and then I know some really straight people, who have never used drugs, and they are extremely open minded and lead interesting lives AND they're respectful of others, which makes them pleasant to be around. I guess, for me these days I opt for the respectful people to give my time to rather than the ones who don't respect themselves or anyone else...whether they take drugs or drink or they are straight. If they are respectful then I'll spend time with them...that's more important to me than whether they are 'boring' or not. Everyone can be boring at times anyway. |

I'm attracted to dorky, bookwormish girls who aren't afraid to let their hair down sometimes and boogie. lol In other words, I like normal, real girls who don't need to be "bad" to have a good time. So, yes, it's possible to be attractive and not be "wild." |

I think needing to take drugs to be cool, is very immature, although I used to think like that when I was about 19. blossom; I agree with you on the whole, mind you, Alex Grey the artist puts a lot of his amazing creations down to the psychedelic drugs he took; Alex Grey and this guy's one of the most enlightened people I know of.. Still I think from my own experience you don't need external things to make life exciting, all you need is yourself.. James81; I agree with you, on those kind of girls, the dorky bookwormish type is the best to go after, although I sometimes find tattooed type girls with coloured hair, etc. easier to have conversations with... for some reason.. |

Yes, for sure Alex Grey is one of the most amazing and enlightened artists I can think of, and drugs definatesly have their place in the art world, which I have no problem with, and am even open to experimentation with...for that purpose...not just to be cool. How awesome are his works on the human body and energy systems |

"smoke, drink or smoke junk" is not my idea of crazy and wild, it's just stupid. Crazy and wild is a girl that does parkour, martial arts or other extreme sports. A "crazy and wild" girl is someone who maintains a healthy body and mind in interesting ways. A boring girl is one who maintains her body and mind by going to ordinary boring gym and solving crosswords... |

Yes, absolutely a non wild girl can be attractive and desirable. Wild and crazy are actually a turn off for me. Perhaps some people looking for a short term relationship would find them more interesting. |

Well then, according to Trezker's interpretation of crazy and wild...I must be! Mountainbike riding and martial arts are my thing...and I could never set foot in a gym...all those people checking themselves out in the mirror...it's bizarr-O land to me! I do like crosswords every once in a blue moon...but I prefer chopping up words and pulling them out of a hat to make poems with |

A wild and crazy girl may get my attention, but it's the seemly "boring" girl who I would actually fall for. And I highly doubt Megan Fox is the boring girl she claims. She knows she has a huge geeky following so she's doing her best to convince them that she's one of them. |

yeah, i want to be "boring" i disagree that they are just workers like the rest of us and that it is the producers etc making the big coins....celebrities command quite a pretty chunk of change for movies, appearances, endorsements, get all kinds of freebies for things they can afford... most of them can go quite easily from their boring humble homes to red carpet with ease...and that is all well and good...if you've got it, you've got it. but i don't feel sorry for any of them....don't take on a very public career and even if you personally you live like a quaker (disclaimer: no criticism for quakers here, just an example) if you make or behave or appear in stages of undress in movies...don't expect to go out in public and not be the center of attention. |

It's really a question of who you want to attract into your life. Right now, I couldn't stand a guy that wants to party all the time, or even a lot of the time, or even a little more than every once in a while. But I don't consider myself boring by any stretch of the imagination. Last edited by MidasGirl; 10-06-2009 at 06:54 PM.

| Beauty and fame are marketed as a big deal, and consumerism is very strong in our society, so people respond to it as a big deal. The trick is to teach our young girls to be conscious what to look for in their role models.

When he was asked "how do you feel being a star" he replied "stars are in the sky, here we are workers". And when they compared him to Luis Miguel, he said "I am not a boxer, I do not compete with anyone, I only compete with myself".

Hey, that's just my oppinion, you don't have to agree...I find gym boring and the people there to be bizarro, I'm not interested in whether or not they are concentrating on activating their muscle tone or not, I assumed they were...and I find it funny and BORING...but that's just my oppinion...it doesn't mean YOU are boring...I wasn't aiming personally at you or anyone else who goes to the gym...that's just MY OPPINION which I'm entitled to...different people like different things...and differences are what make people interesting don'tcha think? And yes , boring is in the eye of the beholder...I think that conclusion has been made on this thread.
