Default Empathy??

For the past couple of years i have found myself working like crazy on self-development, correcting and reshaping several behaviors but have since noticed some new, eerie behaviors creep in.

For one, i have become such the pragmatist, always looking at issues, ideals and people in such a way....this was brought to my attention the other day when i was told 'you aren't one i want to call when upset or sad because you just try to fix it'....and continued to imply i failed in understanding, listening and empathy.

I would enjoy to change this about me....

Any suggestions?
