My dad always told me to marry/be with a someone who makes me a better person and IMHO that is wonderful advice; however, what do you say to someone that doesn't have a goal of personal growth? I met my friend's boyfriend of about a year today and I don't like him as her boyfriend (no opinion as a person in general.) She has a tendencies of dating people that "make her feel good"-i.e. "he compliments me a lot, and worships the ground I walk on." This guy doesn't seem to be any different. How do I/should I have a conversation with her regarding her choices in men? I know everyone is different and I have no right to tell her to live her life.... I am just concerned that if she settles down with someone who does not stimulate her and push her then she will not live up to her full potential. |
