just wanted to share a happy social interaction for a change: After a week on the road, I worked from home today. Since I haven't yet restocked groceries, I walked down to a nearby Thai place for a late lunch. As I sat and ordered, two guys at the bar were getting up to leave, and one lingered behind for a bit, then looked over at me and said he'd pay for my meal. He went and paid at the bar, then came up to my table to tell me he had done so, shook my hand as I smiled and said "thank you!" and then left without even exchanging names. |

That's good, It must have given you a bit of a glow on the inside. Unconditonal kindness/love is the best sort. Something strange but really great happened to me today. I was sat in my car reflecting on a particularly difficult business meeting when I was stirred from my thoughts by a persistent tapping on my car window. I'm not the most patient of people and I turned round a little angrily to see who was anoying me. To my surprise, I was greeted by a really cute little bird, it was so insistent with it's tapping, it stayed with me for ages, and put my day into perspective, it's presence lifted me. Take care, have a good weekend, Andy. |

I also like spontaneous altruistic acts that are done in secret (such as people randomly picking up trash they see on the streets). That's the kind of thing that makes the world go around.
