Jealous of my own people

I think I might have a grudge against my race because the men have a lot of power over the women and the women go along with it like they are the supporting cast in someone else's life. To them the men are more important than themselves and especially than the girls. The men have a great deal of respect and power over others particularly white women. It seems like the women of the race are the bottom of the barrel, the least respected, like we're nothing but bitches and hos. I feel disgusted with myself that I would be jealous of the men. It seems so low. It makes me feel like a terrible person. It makes me feel self-hatred, like they're right about us, we are just bitches and whores. Maybe this is guilt...

I understand your feelings. Please try not to allow wayward popular culture to influence how you experience yourself and your world. And, I will not deny that "our race" does have its traditionalist leanings (read: "sexism"). It is true. However, we do not have to subscribe to such foolishness. It's a personal choice. What would you like to see show up in your life? Entertain that. Do not entertain behaviors that you do not agree with. You already realize they are ignorant. They are not worthy of your time and attention so stop letting them have it so freely.

If Black men have it wrong about Black women, that is their loss...do NOT make it YOURS. Do not own the foolishness of others. The women of our community have tremendously more power than they realize. It's high time we used it to dictate how things must flow from here on out.

And I understand what your saying. I sometimes feel that in the White English race lower class people seem to get more "respect" on the street, in the media and the general culture around us.

But I remind myself that that is dangerous collectivism speech.
