Default How to motivate people

Hi I am going to start my own blog about self development. I just realized that I would love to motivate people over my posts. I want to give them the spark after reading my posts.

Can you recomend me some source for learning this. I am looking for some explanation rather than watching someone like Anthony Robbis doing it. Of course I will start to pay attention more to his words.

Meanwhile I will write my own style.

Hmm. "Made to Stick" is sorta about that. It's about ideas and how to present in a way that they have the most impact.

What do you mean motivate people? To do something? To feel something? Just inspire them?

The best way to motivate someone is to do or be something great yourself. What are your unique strengths or achievements that you would like to share with world?

Do you have some particular knowledge, or some sort of unique perspective on life?

Read "How to Win Friends and Influence People". Really, everyone should read that book.

I guess that works if one really cares about influencing others....Personally I dont care either way about motivating others or being an influence. I just go along in life doing what I do.

Dale Carnegie. Google tells you everything. It's old so it's still got some ethics in there. Almost all non-manipulative.

Yeah? Because it doesn't sound non-manipulative.

He said almost.

And I don't think all manipulation is bad. If you can influence people to take more responsibility for their lives, that's fine by me. We might call it "benign manipulation". Quite often the people who are good at motivating others know how to push the right buttons, while those on the receiving end enjoy the benefits of having their buttons pushed without always understanding immediately what's going on.

Being passionate about your life and being passionate about the topic you are talking about.

It all comes down to your own passion and other people will feel that.

You also have to be willing to lead.

Default How to motivate people

The only way is to be motivated yourself. Motivation is infectious. If you are passionate about something, anything, then you can get others motivated. the trick is that you need to be sincerely motivated.

If you just act motivated or excite your self and play ticks and games or copy other peoples work, then it will be a waste of time.

so i suggest that you find what you are passionate about, and talk on that subject, devote yourself to perfecting your skills in that subject and when you are a master, only then will you be able to motivate others.

otherwise, they could read any book but what you want to be is a living example.

I am certain you would have a lot to gain; it is not just about motivating people. It is more about appreciating and connecting with others. Whether you apply those principles to business or not is up to you.

Take a look at this article of mine:

Ralph Dudek’s blog » Blog Archive » Are you taken for granted?

Notice the bold words especially. Notice the questions, and how I frame things the way that motivates people most. Nearly all I know right now about motivating people through writing is in that article.

It not really manipulative. It contain such advice as the best way to get other people to get interested in yourself is to become more interested in other people.
He also suggest things like remembering other peoples names to show that you are interested in them and a bunch of similar things.

How to motivate people?

Good question.I would say, praise every good thing a person does, from your kids to an employee/employer/colleague.Involvemennt is another good way.People are far more motivated if they feel involved.

As for forums I'm not quite as sure.I'm a relative novice but I would say just be honest, helpfull and bold.I am an extremely busy person and love getting results, that's what drives me.

Good resources are:

Jim Rohn.
Charles Schwab (1st American to be paid $1m per annum).
Dale Carnegie (How to win friends and influence people).

If you've already read Dale's book then I suggest you read it again,I've read it about 15 times, each time I read it I learn something new.

Regards,Andy.
