Question Polyamory vs Swinging

I had never heard the term polyamory until reading about it on Steve's blog.
So I'm wondering what the differences are of a polyamory lifestyle vs a swingers lifestyle. I guess what I'm looking for is personal views or at least some good web locations to do some research of my own on polyamory.

If you listen to our last podcast (I know it's a bit long), we covered six different forms of open relationships, including polyamory and swinging.

If you google "polyamory vs swinging" you'll get a number of pages of answer, but the quick version of the answer seems to be recreational vs emotional sex/relationships. Swinging is more about recreational consensual nonmonogamy. Poly is more about creating multiple relationships, often long-term relationships, again in a consensual, honest manner.

Resource-type stuff needs to find its way into a stickied thread. Talk with the moderators about doing that.
