Yep, that's what a West Australian Christmas is all about. BBQ's, family, food and beer on Christmas day, then down the beach for a little bit of cricket and more BBQ and beer for boxing day.

Yeah definitely looking forward to spending some time in the UK as well as plenty of travel through Europe and across to the US.

My plan isn't to stop drinking completely, just want to stop go overboard with the amount of drink.

I don't drink alcohol... but then, I also I am not a social butterfly anyway... I will leave a party before people finish their first cup if no one is talking to me, which is usually the case. Alcohol only makes things worse. I don't enjoy being left out, but I generally avoid parties... and I enjoy being around drunk people even less.

I am the same way. I can't stand going to a party or social gathering were there is alcohol being consumed and if I'm not holding a beer they look at me like I'm weird. LOL I personally don't like beer as I think its disgusting but even when I'm drinking a schmirnof ice they call me a ♥♥♥♥♥ or a p$#%$^. I just wish people would quit thinking that just because you are at a club or bar that you HAVE to drink or your a loser. Sometimes I really wonder if these people when they sober up ever say to themselves " I'm such an idiot, this is not the way I want people to see me but to fit in I have to."

When I quit drinking about 3 years ago I noticed this too. People who are used to you drinking really want you to join in. In time that all fades away.

Not drinking made my life so much better! And yes, certain friends fell away. It does change your life. Ever hear anyone say "quitting drinking was the worst thing I ever did." I don't think so. There is no way it's negative. It makes life better.

This is another thing I feel is true about not drinking. Party's are just not as much fun anymore. It's just the way it is. Deciding if it was worth it or not was a issue, and I got past that too. I am no longer the last one to leave a party. I get bored. People do stay longer in boring situations when they drink.

Good for you for taking this road. It only gets better.

The best is not being hungover the next day when all your friends are!

kiwis (New Zealanders) like to travel as well, I think because we're isolated countries we want to see what else is out there..

I like drinking beer in moderation, with occasional binges (NYE etc).. It helps me to relax and stop overanalysing things and live in the moment..
