I have fallen in love. I needed a better shot of myself for facebook so instead of waiting for the right photo to happen, I got my camera set to self timer and just started taking photos. I suddenly saw this beautiful woman there. but how can that be?? I was feeling so the opposite all day and gone through quite a bit lately. but suddenly today I fall in love with this woman- for the first time ever I think! I was always so full of self criticism, but now, suddenly that voice is gone. Im in love! she is stunning! wow! I know, for some this comes naturally, but I was never one of those, I actually think that in my teens and twenties I was the most self critical and self destructive person I know... I will start treating myself better now. Oh my , how did I not know how wonderful I was?? Yesterday I decided to go on a man diet: meaning no dating, no falling in love, no crushes, no expectations for 30 days. I just felt there was too much stuff happening in this area, meeting many guys, but I wasn't attracting the right stuff. So I decided put the whole thing a side, and what do you know? Ive discovered me! and how wonderful I am! hope this lasts. I don't want to ever critisize myself again. |

Why not take yourself out on some dates during this period? Woo yourself, let yourself know how wonderful and desirable you are. Treat yourself like the most loveable creature in the world -- flowers, great food, long walks on the beach, fabulous (solo) sex, the whole nine yards! Maybe there is a date you've always dreamed of going on, like a weekend in wine country or skydiving or Disneyland? Take yourself! I love you, too. |

Angela- I like the dating yourself idea. I have chosen not to date for a long time, but perhaps I should woo myself | |

Wouldn't that be fun? Like, mail yourself a love note, or send yourself your favorite flowers with a gushy message? Or take yourself on a sensuous spa date, massage and facial, then take your glowing face and bod out to eat and drink something delicious, and proudly show off your supple gorgeousness? Or go take a salsa dancing class and allow some lucky men to hold you in their arms as you learn how to glide and wiggle?

i did the man diet once, it was the most greatest time of my life!! i fell in love with myself too! it was so so great! the coolest thing was i started feeling really spiritually connected.... weird things happened... one day i did take myself on a date, just to dinner and a movie, but i even dressed up for myself and i looked great and it was so much fun. and on the way there i came across a gold necklace on the ground and i kept it. it looked shiny and perfectly new! and on the way home there was a perfectly clean new fresh pink carnation on the sidewalk right in my path as i walked out of the theater. so i kept that too. it was a pretty awesome experience, i felt like some spiritual thingees were watching over me and were so happy for me. |

So, I emailed myself a short love note. Woa. First, I felt really weird writing it. And when I first received it, I felt even weirder. But then, when I read it, I felt warm and tingly. "UberLover" gave me the best love note EVER of my life. Because UberLover knew exactly what I needed to hear right now. Now I feel all weird again. Amazing how treating yourself nicely brings out alot of discomfort. |

I am loving this thread! So many smiles! I completely forgot about loving myself! Except as a concept, somewhere in the back of my brain. Years ago, I'd call & leave messages on my voicemail, telling me what a great job I was doing! Thanks for the reminder. My kids will be with their Dads for a week, starting Monday... |

| LOL!!! Hilarious. But seriously, I love the ideas about wooing yourself... I don't necessarily need to do something like this, but I think I might go ahead and try this out myself anyway, because it sounds like FUN!!
