A. Someone is trying to find you and is good with computers/internet
B. Some freak coincidence.

I'm not sure which one you're in, you could probably tell better than us. I could probably never run for political office based on the stuff I've posted online. I'm guessing our future presidents will never have used the internet.

I think B.
My best friend thinks A.

I don't really care anymore either way. Life is full of strange things and odd people with weird convictions... not to speak of some unbelievable coincidences
In the end I am not going to change my behaviour online at all. I have nothing to hide. The only one unhappy with all this now is my husband, who remains quite disturbed that some nobody figured out his private email adress.
He is quite internet-savvy and has a public private email which he uses to subscribe to things, etc, and a private private email which he uses for family and friends. And that is where these got sent. I would have understood it better if it had been sent to his work mail adress, which is relatively easy to obtain. - it will probably always remain a mystery.

Hmm... future presidents... We had a prime minister once who made himself immortally foolish by trying to use a mouse as a remote control. While some cameras were running Obviously the computer was not part of his world at all... This was way before the wii, obviously...

So the whole story did help you two to come closer to each other. Sounds great!

I would advise not to provide any personal information in the net.
I provide my name, my city, and probably my email and that's all.

I once had to make a penal denounce before court of justice, and I was harassed and threatened, so I know that those guys could read my posts. I do not care too much. They will find some technical stuff in my mouth that will cause them to have headaches.

I agree. I googled for the combination of evacorges and my real name and came up with one page where a friend had both in combination. That is the only link from evacorges to my real me. My email is not publicly available.
As to other personal information - in order to ask advice of the forum, it is necessary to give some details of what the problem is. I am OK with that. I only provide details I am comfortable giving. The problem here was that someone disapproved of what I was saying, and she did not tell me about it, she told my husband so. With a link to the forum. And my husband was upset not so much by the content of the thread (although I thought so at first) but by the fact that someone could trace my thread to his private email, that he uses for family and friends only. He likes his privacy.

If you are providing your name and your city and your email, you are providing more than I do. That is quite a lot of information!

yes, Duffy, it did. We had some misunderstandings and some discomfort, but truths were told that had not been, and it is better. I see hope for the future of my marriage. a good outcome indeed.
