Default Seeing the good in people

How do you feel about seeing the good in people? Is it unrealistic to look at people in this way or is it somewhat justified?

What do you mean exactly? Is it possible to see something good in everyone? Yes, I suppose you can see something "good" in everyone if you want to. Or you can try not to look at people as having "good" and "bad" qualities at all.

I guess I tried only looking at the good qualities in a person. This caused me to enter a lower consciousness. How do you look at people as not having good or bad qualities?

EDIT: I guess good I mean as in qualities I like and qualities I dislike.

We are all basically the same inside. We all have a multitude of thoughts and feelings that arise of every type.

It is just that we vary in what we show to the outside world. So I don't see the good or bad 'in' people, we are all going through the same stuff trying to deal with it.

So you are asking if it is possible to find something that you like about everyone? Sure, as long as you don't hate everything! It all depends on you. I think I can honestly say that I can find something I like about everyone I meet.

What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to ignore the qualities that you don't like or just recognize that everyone something about them that you like? I don't see how finding qualities that you appreciate in everyone can cause you to enter a lower consciousness unless you are ignoring qualities that make them people you do not want to surround yourself with.

Why do you use "unrealistic" and "realistic" as a standart to measure your actions?

In general it's possible to see good in any person if you try to understand them in context and don't judge at the beginning.
But that's no reason to don't seek an enviroment where people have a lot of good quality that you want to copy.

I personally view people as having a true core that is hidden somewhere. Their actions and attitudes may easily be a part of a mask. I prefer to take people as they are. This means if one week they are a real jerk then the next week they start working on it then I don't tie them to the chains of their past. I appologize for not having a good way of putting this.

I suppose alot of it ties into me being freed from my own past. Who I am today is who I was yesterday and is the same person that I was growing up. Yet my actions are more in line with that core and I work to make my actions grow towards that core self. Any mistakes I make are simply a reflection of my maturity.

So If I want others to treat me by a new standard (even weekly would be good) then I can't go around holding people back with what I think of them now can I? Also mistakes are mistakes they don't define a person. If someone steals does that make him a thief? In the eyes of the world yes. Yet to me that label does that person an injustice. I'm not talking about consequences for actions mind you. When you screw up there are consequences. However I don't have to hold you having stolen against you when you've proven to me that you are working on it.

I prefer to see people growing towards their greatest potential and I like encouraging others to find it.
