Default Getting Married

Well, I've made couple of posts in this very forum about me and my fiance. Long distance relationship: how to make it work? And then; how to make enough money to cover a plane ticket/visa fee (without selling the ring). You guys all gave lots of great advice and support.

So guess what? He's here, it's done, the date is booked!

June 9th, in fact. It's going to be small (16 people) and pretty cheap (we'll rent the outfits, stick to a minimum of fancy background decorations). The most important thing is that, despite all the odds lined up against us (him losing his job, our visa almost getting rejected, running out of money) we managed it.

I'm very happy

We have a home, we have each other, he supports me and helps me grow. It was easily worth the nine months we had to spend apart. He is everything I could ever want or need in a life-partner!

And not just the fact that you're getting married (which is awesome news just by itself, congratulations, I wish you the best of luck in your future together).

What I really believe is awesome (aside from you getting married, congrats again on that ) is the fact that you didn't let anything stand in the way of the 2 of you being together. Despite the adversity, the obstacles, people who said it couldn't be done, you did it. You set up a pattern of behavior which will be repeated over the course of your relationship that says no matter what, we're going to get through this because we love each other, we're worth and it's us against the world and you wouldn't have it any other way. That's the true sign of a great relationship and you have it.

I would say make it a great day, but you already will regardless.

Way to go!!!!

In England until he gets citizenship (two years) and then probably move back to the States for a while so I can get citizenship there. Then we have the choice, and can go back and forth without any worries or hassles - and be connected to both families.

Thanks so much!

I do feel that, having faced down all of this, we have founded a really strong partnership. There are no doubts in my mind at all about him or about our future. I know there will be tough times (because there always are) but I know that we will get through them.

Thanks to all of you for your congratulations

That's all that matters in the end. You have each other and you're in love. The rest will work itself out. Congratulations! I wish you a lifetime of happiness.
