Cool Perspective

30+ years ago I replaced the daily shaving ritual with shaving my neck a couple of times a week and an occasional trim.

People tend to be drawn to those that are confidant, comfortable and happy.

You guys are cracking me up!

I'm late to the party, as usual, but will weigh in anyhow. While I love, love, love LOOKING at guys with beards (and I must say yum! to the pics of all you sexy, bearded guys) I greatly prefer KISSING a clean-shaven face.

But that's just me.

Seriously, to the OP, it is all about your inner self and how you feel about you that really gets the girls. Not your outer appearance.

When you say kissing, do you mean kissing the lips, or kissing the face? I'm curious, because some guys with beards shave a little bit around their lips so there's no hair when kissing.

All of the above. If it's just a peck on the lips or cheek - no problem. It's that more intense sort of kiss that leaves me with beard-burn on my face. Or maybe I've just been kissin' the wrong sort of beards!

Because, oddly enough (and to reiterate the point about inner hotness vs. outer) the guy I recently fell for has a moustache and goatee. Go figure.

Danger Man recently grew in stubble for an Evil Doctor Villain role in a horror film... it looks great! Really handsome. But ouch! it is not so ergonomic. I will go with comfort over visual aesthetics; I'd rather kiss him than look at him, if I have to make that choice.

Soft is better than hard (never thought I'd type that particular sentence!) and, like Angela said, stubble is the worst.

I know! Let's wear wigs! I bought one today - a pink one with a pony. But for you I would wear one with short, black hair, provided you look like a metal fan

(I could wear a false beard too.... )

edit: you can admire my wig here

Could it be that beards are natural and shaving is not? I've had a beard for five years now. A goatee, but you get the picture.

I wasn't going to comment considering recent events, but I am not a fan of facial hair. Still, my ex bf maintains a beard and not only does it suit him, but I actually like it very much. Still not so much on other guys. My point is that if someone likes/loves you things they may not prefer can become points they actually find very attractive about you.

So, james (and others), my point is not to stress over a particular area of appearance. Be you and you will attract a person who appreciates your attributes and your look. They may even find that they only thought they preferred guys with beards, until they came across you that is!

Yeah, that's a good point. Even if you have apperances that only 0.005% of all women would ever consider dating (that is 99.995% of women would find you repulsive), out of 3 Billion women in the world, that still leaves you 15 million women for you to find your one soulmate.

Yeah I have a beard, I wouldn't shave it off for anyone. I don't care if other do or do not like it! Its me and if they don't like me because of my beard, they can leave. How juvenile of a reason for not liking someone is that! facial hair! ha ha ha Mine is 2 inches long now, and I have had my moustache since I was 15. Its me.

I have a beard because:
it's natural, if I wasn't supposed to have a beard why would it grow by itself?
shaving is a waste of time
I feel totally naked without beard, I could probably walk around town without clothes and not feel as naked as when I'm shaved in private. I feel like I'm some kind of pervert when the beard is gone. Makes me shudder just to think about it.

Well, the same could be said of showering. Why wash off when my sweaty funk is so natural? Plus it eats up time in the morning when I could be sleeping. My nails, too, now that I think about it. No more cutting them.

Nails would be worn down in a natural environment. And we probably only need to shower because we use clothes which makes the stink stick.

What's so appealing about facial hair?!?!
What difference could they possibly make?!?!

It seems like any girl I take a remote interest in, turns out to be with a man with a beard!!

GRRRRRRR....... I seriously don't get you ladies

Actually the only reason I wanted my bf to grow a beard is so that I could experiment with hair removal cream or waxing it off to see how long it would take his hair to grow back so he would have to shave less.

He works in a pharmacy and as a rule all men must be clean shaven.

For me it really depends on the guy. Some look hot with a beard, some look better without. Depends on your face. I've never fancied a guy in real life with a beard, but maybe that's because I'm only 17 so most of the guys around my edge don't have one. I do have crushes on a few celebrities with facial hair though. (Johnny Depp = yum!)

My dad couldn't grow one until he was nearly 24, even though he was 6'4'' at 14. A friend of similar height, 6 foot 6 inches, didn't seem able to grow a beard until his early 20s. Both he and my dad are blond, if that somehow had anything to do with it.
