Danger Man told me something interesting yesterday.... he is a model and also does photography for other models, and when he's shooting a face that is round or softy or baby-faced, he'll use a black background -- something about the lack of light bouncing onto the edges makes the face look leaner and more defined. Long dark hair and facial hair have the same effect, apparently. I can see how some guys do look better with facial hair because they look more angular and edgy and strong. Unfortunately, a very light-colored beard has the opposite effect. For me, I don't care, as long as it's well-tended and doesn't scratch me too much. I would be sorry to see Danger Man hide his beautiful mug under a bunch of hair, though. I would just like to issue a plea to men to stop growing beards that look like a brazilian-waxed woman... you know, that thin little strip in the middle of the chin, like Britney Spears' new married boyfriend? eeeeeyuck. |

| I didn't mean romantic attraction, I meant more the LoA kind of attracting them into your life. IMO it does have a sense that all women you find attractive dig men with beards, while you can't possibly have one. Maybe you're so afraid of women that you prefer hiding behind the beards? Cause if they liked your type of guy, you would have to overcome your fear? Dunno, I'm just speculating... but when I notice that all men I attract into my life have one characteristic in common, usually it's insightful to look at this characteristic and ask myself what it means.

| Biologically the beard is a secondary sexual characteristic developed upon puberty, like enlarged breasts for women, and just like there have been periods where small breasts were in, there are also times when boyish faces are preferred to that of a man (and of course in addition to general trends there are individual preferences).
