Default What do you recommend?

Hiya its Muzzinho again... I have a problem... What can I do when the people I live with are negative as well as ignorant and dont manifest the life they want to live.... I fell trapped somewhat by my parents who dont live or look after me and my siblings in a very informed way about the world and seem to reinforce the negative continuosly. I feel pushed into doing things I dont wanna do or listen to. I would like some recommendations and I can only be positive for so long and up to a limit and I feel as though the negativity is rubbing off on me which is unhealthy.

I think I heard somewhere that the 5 people closest to you is the person who you become.. so if you have parents telling to go out and get a "job" thats what you'll do. Where as if you're a talented singer and your parents tell "no dont get a job, youre talented go for it!" thats exactly what you'll do.

Another question which I would like help with is how far can I go on my own. I dont have enough support (in all areas of life) from anyone in particular person.... so what can I do in this situation?

Thanks everyone!

Those people only have power over you because you allow yourself to be controlled by them.

Put very simply, if you were to cease your judgment of what they do and say and stop regarding it as negative (or positive), you'd be set. Sometimes people just are who they are, and if your parents are what you consider negative, so be it. You are still you, your life goes on whether you're living it miserably or happily. It's your choice as to whether you live feeling negative or content.

I think you can go as far as you want to. What kind of support from other people is it you feel that you lack?
