Cool thread! Where: Probably Vegas. Montana is also a possibility. I MAY end up in Boston. It's a complex story. Why: I'd be going to Vegas to see my brother and BIL. Montana would be to see in-laws. Boston would be to attend a NYE party hosted by a friend of mine who works in softcore porn. How Long: I will likely leave on the 21st and return home on the 3rd, little jet setter I am. Cost: Not real sure. Under $2000 total eventually. |

Danger Man and I have been invited to spend christmas in Boros, Sweden with his ex-wife, her boyfriend, and the kids. Apparently, the boyfriend's family owns some sort of castle, so it sounds like fun, but it's pretty stinkin' cold in Sweden in December. An 80 degree holiday at home in Santa Monica seems like it might be the better (and cheaper) choice. I'm waffling. |

Option #1: Spend the holidays with your man's ex, in weather approaching absolute zero; or Option #2: Spend the holidays having lawn-smushing sex in gloriously beautiful Southern California. Decisions, decisions... | |

| Yeah, it doesn't seem like much of a contest, does it? But when you factor in how much we both love his kids, and that I would love to meet and get to know their mother better in person, it evens out a little more..... It would be great if we could get the whole brood to come out here, but they love where they are and are reluctant to leave their cozy lives. I guess I can't blame them, cuz I feel the same way.

Angela, want my advice too? Spend the holidays with your man's ex, in weather approaching absolute zero! I don't know yet, there are two possibilities: Where To: South France Why: To visit my family How long of stay: two weeks How to get there: fly approx. cost: just the flight or Where To: touring through Serbia Why: To discover a country I know nothing about How long of stay: two-four weeks How to get there: bus, train, walking... approx. cost: minimal travel and food costs, I hope to find nice people to give me a shelter there. I'll do both in the next months anyway. |

I'm driving to Marquette, MI for Dec. 21 - 29 to visit my wife's family and friends. Costwise, a visit to my inlaws' place can't be beat, either. We stay and eat with them and it only costs 1 full tank worth of gas to get there (about $60 - $70) plus food.

Japan! Again! I'm going with a couple of friends this time (I went on my own two years ago). I'm going back because it was great last time, and the main source of any negative feelings was that I didn't have anyone to share the experience with for about half that holiday. I'm going for a month from Nov 24th to Dec 23rd, then I'll be spending a little under a week in Brisbane visiting some good friends before returning home on the 29th. And I'm sure the time between then and NYE will not be anywhere near enough to recover from my holiday in time for a huge NYE party. What a drag Total cost is around $4000, not including spending money, which probably won't be much anyway. As for Angela's choice, I'm with the ladies on this one. Sex in California is a lot more accessible than Sweden, wouldn't you say? You can do the former any time (well, almost), but a castle in Sweden? Damn! Rug up and head out I say! |
